He's done a good deed but I don't think sitting there earning the contract that they gave him makes him immoral. He want's to go to Corinthians so it suits him to leave early, and obviously well off enough that he doesn't need the cash
 
He has evidently given up 24 million to take a contract worth 3.6 million a year. So he'd have to play for almost 7 years to make the same money.

As for not needing the cash, how does he know? He's 33 years old. He's not going to be able to live at the same economic level for 50 years even if he has done well so far. He must be pretty desperate to go home to Brasil.

I agree, that said I guess only he knows how economically stable he will be. Players like braithewaite for example have huge investments outside of playing, so maybe he has invested well and feels pretty secure.
 
You'd have to say 'fair play'. The majority of footballers are happy to sit on a contract and let it rundown.
 
There might have been a 'golden handshake' that both parties don't wish to publicise. I any case he values having a job as opposed to being rich and idle. Mental health and all that.

I know Willian owns that restaurant in London called Babbo.

So if he’s invested in that, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has made others investments.

I’m sure he’ll know what he’s doing..
 
I'd maybe like the option to try and find out Muttley!

If you have a spare £24 million lying about I'd be willing to take it on to prove the hypothesis.

Purely for science, I wouldn't enjoy any of it.
