Will Tory @#×@ get the message from voters ?

They’ve took a battering despite clinging on to Uxbridge because of citizen khans ULEZ policy (tin eared khan !)

You’d think anyone with an ounce of humility and humanity would step back and say, people are hurting and the banks, oil companies and certain big corporations and water companies are literally taking the absolute pi$$ out of people and you’re government just allows it to happen - if we, the Tories want any chance of victory at the next election we must do something different and fast

And the complete disaster that brexit brings in slowly sinking the country’s economy.

But no, the scum will beat the racist drum of stop the boats, squeeze public services funding (that the people rely on) because the Tories are not human IMHO.

That said, once again, people hold their (fcuking) noses and think this scum is worth voting for in this (state) of the UK today - doesn’t that just tell you everything you need to know about the stupid English voters.

I’m ashamed to be English.

ULEZ isn't tin eared. A child died from air pollution in London. Why have a Labour government at all if it's not going to institute policies that stop this?
I don’t disagree BUT it’s about being SMART thinking and introducing it at the right moment in time, not scuppering a chance to build national momentum.
So, I agree but smart people understand timing.

It's been on the agenda since April so it wasn't scuppering anything. Changing the policy slate for a by-election announced a month ago is hardly strong leadership and would undermine Khan elsewhere and he has his own election next year.

It cost Labour the seat, but Selby swung by 24%. Labour won't lose seats in London.

Exactly. Whilst the ULEZ policy may have cost Labour the opportunity to take Uxbridge there was still a swing to Labour that will mean they comfortably hold all seats and gain some more when it matters. And no they won’t get the message. They wont get the message. They are harrumphing the Uxbridge win on media outlets so clearly they haven’t.

ULEZ - hits lower income households more, as they are obviously less able to pay the charges, though living in London the infrastructure is there to not use a car: roads for the rich - public transport for the plebs..

As for election results themselves - nice to see the voters register their feelings.

Migrant issue - Tories like the mess as it gives them a drum to bang.. it does need credible action as we can't have a large towns worth of people rocking up every year unannounced.. with no infrastructure to support them..

Tories today -

Hold Uxbridge & Ruislip because Labour have been poor in London

Lose Selby & Ainsty, and Somerton & Frome because Tory voters stayed at home

bull******* their way through life as usual

What are labour going to do different the conservatives are a waste of space but I don’t see the labour offering anything different. Are they going to tax the big companies reduce my bills ??

ULEZ was introduced by Johnson when he was Mayor of London.

Seems weird to me that Uxbridge would vote for the Tory candidate based on a dislike of a policy introduced by their previous Tory MP when he was Tory Mayor 🤷‍♂️
I think you know what the point is, it didn’t affect them back then and it is a Labour Mayor that is pushing it out to them now.

Whilst something has to be done to clean the air, this policy disproportionately hurts the less well off, schemes to incentivise change would be helpful and part of the solution, just have them tapered so it helps the less well off more.

Starmer is watering down all labour policy so even when they get in nothing much will change. But it's ridiculous that with Greece in fire 50 degree temperatures in Italy etc that a climate change policy to help reduce pollution and clean up Londons smog. Has resulted in the Conservatives holding on

The 'white' migrants are escaping a war in Europe & travel through a managed administrated system.. & have somewhere designated for them to be housed..

Many of the boat migrants are little more than economic migrants, & do not help the real migrants - also that majority seem to be single adult males, doesn't help their cause.
What a bunch of tory bulls hit propoganda.
I can't decide whether you are story shill, a fool or a racist. Perhaps all 3.

I had a feeling Labour wouldn't win in Uxbridge. Tories successfully made it a referendum on ULEZ.

Starmer did nothing to prevent that either, they asked him several times and he refused to answer the question as to whether he supported the scheme and eventually began distancing himself from Khan

In a cost of living absolute crisis I think Khan is tin eared. He needs to be more creative than this because kicking people while they are already struggling isn’t good policy, it’s suicidal policy.
