Will there be a change in tactics v Blackburn?

I don't think we could realistically v brum and Millwall as there was only a day prep for each game, but with a full week training for this one and reports of double sessons do you think Leo and Co will change things up formation wise? If they want to impress to stake their claim for the job then they need to do something to shake things up.

I'm not a fan of wingbacks at all so hope we see the back of them.

Clarke injured? Crooks injured? Giles injured?

bit more thickness in midfield?

It will be rather 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 or something in-between depending if we have fullbacks, wingbacks a mixture of the two or Mcgree playing a number 10 type role.

when people talk tactics they usually focus on formation, has the wingback formation failed us at home? Played 7, won 3, drawn 3, lost 1. Nearly 2 points a game at home. It's away from home our 'tactics'/formation has failed

We need to stop Brereton Diaz from scoring because he is the Championships equivalent to Haaland ( well almost) He scores for fun usually. Wigan got in his face and bullied him and we need to take the same approach if we are to prevent him scoring.

I'm not confident we have the players with the same passion, commitment and energy anymore tbh.

Under an interim manager: no. Also, as others have said, our home form is generally good even if performances have been poor. Leo is basically housesitting until a new manager starts so his job is to keep things ticking over.

You'd think Lenihan has a good idea how to stop him

Dijksteel Lenihan Fry Bola
Howson Luongo
Jones McGree Giles
Muniz

Could swap McGree for Watmore and give him licence to partner Muniz when we have the ball, or keep McGree as the link between the 2 defensive midfielders to get the ball forward. I'd like to see our old wing backs further forward and given permission to get at full backs and get balls into the box, get themselves in the box asap and see if they can win a penalty.

Alternative is an old type 442. Quick pacy wingers, two fairly solid in the middle, Mcnair might offer a bit more in a midfield 2 than Luongo or McGree would. Full backs who aren't scared to overlap if necessary. 2 upfront. Can swap to 4312 if need be McGree on for Mcnair, could go 424 when we have the ball etc...

Jack Stott - good prospect but way too early for him, just more nonsense from that poster!
THAT POSTER!?! You’re not doing a Wilder on me are you?!?

3-3-2 with reinforcements from the academy.. cos they ain’t coming from nowhere else!

Fletcher recalled, Hackney given a whirl, Stott training with the first team. If Clarke is injured we might see Bilongo on the subs bench.

I’d be interested to see what happened to Joe Gibson as he was so close to a start the back end of last season! With Payero and Tavernier out of the door I would have thought Gibson would get his chance.

Anymore for any more?

I'm not suggesting it's not worth a try, but before tactics can make an impact we need to get back to players competing, pressing and showing some spirit and confidence. Without that a tactical change will have minimal impact.

How on earth have we gone from just missing out on the Play-Offs, followed by a FULL summer window to strengthen and prepare the squad to go one better... and end up with people talking about putting Jack Stott in the team.

Chronic.
