There are other photographs with just the lads in shot - we already know what they look like.

Jonny appears to be going round with the new Gaffer - maybe introduced to the players and obtaining information which may be useful.

Notice any difference from Wilder as opposed to Warnock?
He talked in this afternoons media conference of "laying down the right messages" from which I assume he means a common starting point, talking about his methods, expectations and what he expects from the players. He did mention that he expects all players to give of their best. He sounded focused and orientated. Its clear from the conference that his relationship with "the owner" [Steve Gibson] was a key factor in choosing Boro. He said "He allows his Managers to Manage". Clearly that was a big issue at Sheffield United. He talked of "consistency" when asked about the Championship and in response to a question about where he wants us to be this season, he replied "we`l give it a good go". He also takes the short and long-term view, which is positive, because there is a "big picture" and a vision - and a plan "B". Very impressed with what I`ve read, watched and heard across many media platforms about Chris Wilder. (y)

He came across as the man who will try to get the best out of the players for the club. I didnt detect an egotistical, emotional man, but more a pragmatist.

No Payero in training?
Is he away on international duty?

Yeah - I really like those training videos so have watched them all.

I don't know what the drills are called (our board coach @BoroMart might be able to help!) but Warnock would always do boxes / rondos then a regular eight a side game on what looked like a half size pitch.

In the new Wilder video, there's two new drills. One is like a six a side game on a tiny pitch, goal where the goal is and another just outside the box, but pretty much instant attack / shooting chances and turning second balls into shooting chances, mainly two touch. It's murderball as well, if the ball goes out of play another gets thrown in immediately. Then another drill with the strikers which is three players taking one touch on the edge of the box in small spaces and shooting.

Looks like he's trying to work on our intricate passing in small spaces and getting shots off, which is interesting.

It's hard to make out all the audio but Wilder does say to one of the coaches (Mark??), "Are you doing your best session already? It only gets worse from here lads." 😁

It’s the attacking side I’m most excited to see as watch the old shef u vids and they rained in shots from everyone. Especially low cross balls in the box with sometimes up to 3 people waiting to convert them.

yes 3 people in the box you read that right

I think our inter-passing and shooting around the box is woeful at times. There's been dozens of times this season that I've seen us where we do the hard work of engineering a promising position around the box, only to run into a blind alley, have a poor pass behind our player or easily cut out, a shot blocked or skied (Tav has probably been the most guilty, but equally he takes on the ball the most too). A 20%-30% improvement in these areas may actually see us kill teams off in the first half when we're well on top for a change.

Yes, I'll be studying his sessions and taking a few hints, I do like the defence vs attack one with the goals really close to each other, means your players have to transition very quickly otherwise when you lose the ball you concede a free shot.
