Jobs for the boys ?
Do you not think they are good enough for us?

It's not like your hero Neil brought in players he has previously worked with at the expense of arguably better players. Peltier > Spence???

I'm just saying Warnock got lambasted on here for signing his old players...'Jobs for the Boys' you all said.

I see it's different if Wilder does it though....

Some rumours have appeared on one website a couple of hours ago. Give people a chance to comment before you get on your high horse.

'Jobs for the Boys' you all said.
Who said that (and who is 'you all')?
That's a genuine question, I am not fishing nor am I trolling you.

As Tom Jones would say 'It's not unusual' for a new manager to recruit some of their former players.
You seem to have a slight bee in your bonnet about our new manager before he has even really started in the role.

UTB and the best of luck to our new manager!

Big fan of Oliver Burke, Basham knows Wilder and his methods inside out. Both positive if true.

I see absolutely no problem with "jobs for the boys" by the way when it comes to player recruitment. Football management is similar to any other people management role - why wouldn't you want to employ people you get on with and trust to perform? If they're also available that's another bonus.

Same with coaching setups, managers often want to work alongside people they trust, like and have been successful with.

I'm fairly sure it was widely said that Bamba and Peltier were jobs for the boys. As it turned out Warnock was right as Sol has been our best defender over the season so far ! .... and Peltier has been more than adequate except at Yellow cards where he has been exceptional

I have to wonder what use Oliver Burke would be to us but if he wants Chris Basham then that's likely to be ok

Rumours are not always facts

Lots of posters used that 'jobs for the boys' term re Bolasie, Bennett, Mendez Laing, Peltier, Bamba.

Now all of a sudden it doesn't apply seemingly....with comments like 'I trust Wilder to make the right decisions' ???

Fair dos.

But looking at your posting time it was less than 2hrs ago, so how do you know these posters might not say the same thing once they read your post?

Yeah they absolutely should do if they are remaining consistent....

Here's a couple of examples...

"Joe Bennett is awful. Why do we always bring back old tat? Jobs for the boys. Amateur club"

"When he first came he played to our strengths. Last season he didnt and it was jobs for the boys in Bolasie and M-L."

Wouldn’t sign Burke, Watmore is similar but better in my opinion. Bashams a very good player and from the north east so could that one happening on a two year deal.

:)
No offence meant here, but do you keep a jotter book of what other posters have said?

'jobs for boys' makes me laugh. Every single manager signs players they know from previous clubs.

Gerrard will go for some Rangers players and Smith no doubt the odd Villa/Brentford one.

Also it has to be said that Peltier and Bamba have actually been very good value for money. Bamba has been our best Defender and we'd have been fecked without Peltier.

So why was it used to have a dig at Warnock ?

Nobby he’s gone get over it

or go and support what ever club he rocks at next.
Look I could have used one of your quotes but I didn't...just let me get on with it, I'm sure I'll finally get closure on Saturday 3pm when I realise he's gone and he's never coming back 😉
