Wigan go into administration

If they get the points deduction overturned, then other clubs who have previously been deducted points will be raging.

They had funds promised by new owners pulled, this is something that has happened before for many reasons, citing C19 as an exception would be wrong.

They have also said they will be deducted points, so now all clubs around the bottom of the league will have, rightly or wrongly, factored that in, potentially changing how clubs approach the remaining games.

It sounds like the owning group sold the club to themsleves individually and then immediately put it into administration with themselves as the creditors. Defo. sounds like some fraud has gone on

TalkSPORT are wrong.

The only way it's not being taken off this season is if Wigan are relegated without it.
Given they're 8 points above the drop with 6 games left, that's not likely to happen.

That is unless talkSPORT have some new information that wasn't included in the EFL's announcement 19 hours ago.

Don’t know the rule on this, but does it make a difference that they went into administration on 1st July, which is generally the date classed as the start of the new football year? If it does, that may well be the reason why it happened yesterday and not before.

Dont know mate. Just listening and Brasil and McCoist were talking about it.He finished by saying" we now understand that any penalty will be applied next season".
The original timing was if you go into administration before the end of March the penalty will be this season. With the league being suspended it could make a difference to the dates penalties are applied ?
Just saying what I heard on the radio.
Brazil doesn’t even know what month it is half the time
