Wiffle Lever To Full... night for vintage sci-fi fans the Waiting Room on Sunday

Cheap plug... I'm doing this at the Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe on Sunday night. It's a daft night of tales about my travels around sci-fi and cult TV conventions (Doctor Who, Star Wars, Blake's 7, The Prisoner, Robin of Sherwood... and more) but also lots of stories about growing up on Teesside in the '70s and '80s as a fan of all this stuff. Based on my book 'Wiffle Lever To Full'... about which The Times said "Anyone who agrees that Star Wars was a defining moment of our collective childhoods will love this book". So I was chuffed with that. And for bonus Teesside points, the talk mentions Romer Parrish, Leslie Browns, the Endeavour in Acklam and Hintons.

Tickets here if anyone fancies it... it's done OK, but we can probably get about another 15 people in the room.

Can't make it, but the book is great, so if anyone is free, I'd recommend going.

I saw him presenting it at the independent book store in Wood Green years ago. It was a hugely entertaining night.

Blimey, thanks gents!

The book was reissued in 2018 with a few new bits and has had a new lease of life, really. If anyone wants a copy with their favourite Boro player (or anything else they fancy) drawn on it, then I've got a load here. Another cheap plug...

I actually went in an actual branch of the actual Forbidden Planet to buy a copy off the author. It's very good.

Thanks Capy! That was the launch night, wasn't it? Seems like lifetimes ago, but such a fun night. Hope all is well with you!
