Why would an Arsenal fan go and watch Spurs

An Arsenal fan might go and watch Spurs if they fancied going to a game and Arsenal weren’t playing….what a strange question to ask on a football board. This whole donations and freebie stuff is being kept in the spotlight by those in the Telegraph and Mail who don’t like it that the natural order of things is being undermined. To quote Angela Raynor ‘politicians have always accepted donations’ Has no one on here ever had a corporate freebie?

It’s the complete lack of self awareness that gets me. He knows this is all over the news at the moment. It shows a real arrogance not to just keep away from things like this until the dust settles at least.
It’s not a lack of self awareness, it’s the scumbag right wing press trying to make a scandal out of nothing with millions of the gullible ready and willing to lap it up.

‘SCANDAL’!! KIER STARMER GOES FOR A SH1T!!

It’s a significant conflict of interest and should rightly be questioned.
Explain in detail why it's a significant conflict of interest.

If someone buys you a pint do you really need to know if they have an ulterior motive for doing so?

For me he can accept and go to any sports game, theatre or concert as a guest accepting free tickets as long as he pays the relevant amount of tax payable to HMRC for accepting these gifts

Depends where you are tbh. If someone offered me a pint in the Pig Iron I’d think twice about drinking it.

If there's nothing wrong with it why are you so morally opposed to MPs taking gifts/donations?

The government is looking to bring in a football regulator, which football clubs and the premier league are against.
The same football clubs/league that have given him £35k worth of free tickets in the last year alone

It’s a very clear conflict of interest

I asked him to explain why it was a significant conflict of interest. I can ask that question as well as being opposed to MPs taking gifts/donations surely.

It seems you're playing the man and not the ball, again.

You haven't explained the conflict of interest though. He is the PM and therefore part of the Government. If the plan for the introduction football regulator was suddenly dropped then you might, just might, have a point. But it hasn't, has it?

My entire post was explaining what the conflict of interest is.

It doesn’t matter if the law is passed or isn’t. If one party directly involved is gifting hospitality to the government then that’s the direct conflict of interested. Nothing should be exchanged between either party, and if it’s offered it should be rejected by the PM to keep impartiality
