Why is it so dark

I’m not talking about the dark nights coming earlier but driving especially you notice the lack of street lighting.

Have they turned down the lights as it’s getting like America now with almost black spots in places.
 
Black spots in a country the size of America…..

I got told by someone who works in R&C council that they’ve started turning street lights off to save money.

It does feel quite dark on the trunk road when driving home from matches in the winter, especially on the roundabouts near tees dock.
 
Changing from amber to white lighting made the streets darker but it was some time ago that it happened.

Perhaps people turning off domestic lighting due to power prices has enhanced it
 
No lights have been turned off in Boro, there was plans to turn them off, but we reversed them plans.
In a lot of the towns and villages in France, the lights are on sensors and get brighter when there is movement. I'm not aware of any lighting like this in this area. I'm not sure the savings would benefit the cost of swapping them over.
