Why does it take us an eternity to complete a deal?

Blame Brentford, who will have been haggling about the add ons, probably didn't like us wanting to pay the final 75% on winning the Champions League?
 
Although we're always going to be further down the chain, just look at how long things take at the top of the pyramid too.

Man City et al don't spring surprise signings which knock your socks off as it takes months to wade through both the commercial contracts and the FFP smoke and mirrors.
 
I guess because we haggle.

You can do a deal quickly if you pay everything they (club and player) want. That's how Peter Ridsdale did business.
