Why do clubs continue to appoint Steve Bruce?

etc, etc?
Go on then.
Birmingham promotion to Premier League. TWICE
Wigan kept them in the Premier League
Sunderland kept them in the Premier League
Hull promotion to Premier League TWICE and got them to the FA CUP FINAL.
Villa Play off final, narrowly missing out 1-0 to Fulham.
Newcastle kept them in Premier League..

Some posters football knowledge is atrocious.

To be fair he's inherited a none scoring and bang out of form side...they are still that with the same players.

Only a very small portion of blame can land at his feet. Although yes you look at Wilder and Cooper at forest and they have had immediate effects.

You'd expect to see some kind of 'bounce'. They looked absolutely awful tonight. Just devoid of any confidence.

I actually feel a bit sorry for him and worry about his welfare. I don't understand why he came back so quickly after the Newcastle affair. He didn't deserve that. I just don't know why he came back so soon. I'd just pack in or have 6 months off.

The former WBA manager built and molded the same style he had at Barnsley. It's actually very much pulis in style. It was never going to be for everyone.

That said I'm not sure what went on with Wilder. Apparently he was very close. I don't know who turned who down? Or maybe the interview went in a different direction for both parties.

Your claim was that he has teams punching above their weight wherever he has been.
You gave two examples and implied there were lots more.

Keeping Newcastle in the PL wasn’t a case of them punching above their weight. Minimum requirement.

Nor was keeping Sunderland there. In fact his time there was not deemed a success.

Aston Villa failing to get promoted wasn't punching. Another failure tbh. The fans threw cabbages at him.

Birmingham fair enough I suppose, but still a mixed bag really.

His time at Sheff Utd, Wigan (1st time) Palace & Huddersfield were hardly successful either. 2nd time at Wigan a bit better.

In summary, a couple of highlights but mainly underwhelming.

yep, if only a couple of our last few managers had had a couple of highlights eh?
fickle things fans 😀

I agree. But he hasn't been a success wherever he has been, which was the claim.
I don't know why that means I'm fickle. He's nothing to do with me.

You conveniently forgot about Hull I see...
Disagree with most of that...
Thanks 👍
