I can only go by my eyes and, the stats you quote were in our struggling season mainly?I don't know how anyone can make that assessment.
Stojanovic has played 9 games for us conceding 13 goals - I certainly haven't seen all his appearances but those that I did didn't suggest he was particularly good. Not had a stellar career with any other club either looking at the stats. And for a 28 year old he's had plenty of other clubs.
Better the devil you know sometimes.
Stats are total appearances for Boro.I can only go by my eyes and, the stats you quote were in our struggling season mainly?
Additionally I did not claim he was good, just better than Lumley and Daniels, which isn’t a high bar.
My point was it isn’t a high bar, hence why i feel Stojanovic was better.Stats are total appearances for Boro.
I never said that you thought he was good. I was just saying that I don't understand how anyone can make a proper assessment of his ability when he's only played 9 games (assuming you'd seen every game).
Out of interest which recent Boro keepers do you think are worse than Lumley/Daniels?
Of course it was his fault. I'm absolutely sure that Wilder would expect him to clear it in that circumstance. It was awful judgement. The backpass was poor but he still had time to clearControversial opinion.....
The mistake wasn't a "goalkeeping mistake" as such, it was a "distribution error" caused by him having to perform with his feet at a higher level than he is capable of due to the system we play. I am certain he would've put his foot through that ball if Warnock was still in charge.
Was it an error? Yes. Was it his fault? Not really as he was trying to do what he's been told to do rather than what he would naturally have done (and let's be honest it was Dijksteel's error that put Lumley under pressure there in the first place).
Is he good enough? No, I don't think so (but let's remember, he had a worldie for QPR against us just before we signed him so maybe it's a confidence thing?). Is he our best option? Based on the fact that Brynn isn't getting anywhere near even the bench then I'd have to say yes.
The crowd chanting his name before kick off tomorrow would have a massive impact on him I think.
It have something to do with it, its obtuse to suggest otherwise?Which has nothing to do with how good a keeper is and you know it.
No it’s more about how good the defence in front of him is. But you already knew thatIt have something to do with it, its obtuse to suggest otherwise?
I think that's the crux of this, he's not very good but he's the best we have available until the summerBut we don't have another keeper anywhere near as good.
I actually didn't and I don't agree, if he (rightly) gets called out for his mistakes, he equally has to take some credit too.No it’s more about how good the defence in front of him is. But you already knew that
Well we'll definitely play out from the back where possibleGoing to be interesting tomorrow if we continue the playing out from the back
