Who will play in goal tomorrow?

I don't know how anyone can make that assessment.

Stojanovic has played 9 games for us conceding 13 goals - I certainly haven't seen all his appearances but those that I did didn't suggest he was particularly good. Not had a stellar career with any other club either looking at the stats. And for a 28 year old he's had plenty of other clubs.

Better the devil you know sometimes.
I can only go by my eyes and, the stats you quote were in our struggling season mainly?

Additionally I did not claim he was good, just better than Lumley and Daniels, which isn’t a high bar.

Stats are total appearances for Boro.

I never said that you thought he was good. I was just saying that I don't understand how anyone can make a proper assessment of his ability when he's only played 9 games (assuming you'd seen every game).

Out of interest which recent Boro keepers do you think are worse than Lumley/Daniels?

My point was it isn’t a high bar, hence why i feel Stojanovic was better.

As for recent keepers that are worse, depends what you mean by recent. I think Pears for me was really poor. Daniels is arguably unfair to judge adequately based on his few appearances.

Controversial opinion.....

The mistake wasn't a "goalkeeping mistake" as such, it was a "distribution error" caused by him having to perform with his feet at a higher level than he is capable of due to the system we play. I am certain he would've put his foot through that ball if Warnock was still in charge.

Was it an error? Yes. Was it his fault? Not really as he was trying to do what he's been told to do rather than what he would naturally have done (and let's be honest it was Dijksteel's error that put Lumley under pressure there in the first place).

Is he good enough? No, I don't think so (but let's remember, he had a worldie for QPR against us just before we signed him so maybe it's a confidence thing?). Is he our best option? Based on the fact that Brynn isn't getting anywhere near even the bench then I'd have to say yes.

The crowd chanting his name before kick off tomorrow would have a massive impact on him I think.
Of course it was his fault. I'm absolutely sure that Wilder would expect him to clear it in that circumstance. It was awful judgement. The backpass was poor but he still had time to clear

against Bournmouth and Coventry he's way up there, Stoke and Nottingham Forrest he's quite good too.. he's got the makings of a really good keeper.

The number 1 jersey is a bit of a hinderance IMO and he could do with being on loan from another club.
If we had Stojanovic as our number 1 and Joe Lumley was our number 31 or 26 on loan from a prem club., he would be the best thing since sliced bread.

I fully understand people wanting to insulate the team at this important time and I fully understand Wilder protecting him.
At the match he should be supported and backed and I certainly will be.

But it is more than OK to point out on a message board that he is by far the weakest link in our team and is a poor goalkeeper - as QPR fans know all too well.

No it’s more about how good the defence in front of him is. But you already knew that
I actually didn't and I don't agree, if he (rightly) gets called out for his mistakes, he equally has to take some credit too.

I think ultimately his mistakes, which seem to have dogged his career at QPR too, will cost him his place, but other than the odd very conspicuous ruck he's a decent enough keeper at this level.

If we scored enough goals per game there wouldn’t be pressure on the keeper allowing him to focus more on clean sheets and pulling off the odd worldly .
