Which promotion rivals still have to play each other?

Looking at the fixtures of the top 9 teams vs other top 9 teams, some teams have a significantly easier end to the season than others and all will be taking points from each other.

- Boro & Huddersfield arguably have it easiest with only four games left against other top 9 teams
- Blackburn & Forest have five
- Coventry & QPR have six
- Fulham & Bournemouth each have seven games left against other top 9 teams.
- Sheffield Utd have eight, but six of those are at home.

Nothing is predictable in this division but among our playoff rivals points must be lost.

Bournemouth's run in is shocking, and they're not in great form either over 10-20 games. They've won the last three against some poor sides, but I think it's papering over some cracks.

It's really hard to know what result to hope for in those games.
For example tonight a draw might seem decent but if we then finish the season in 7th, behind Sheff Utd on GD but 10 points behind Blackburn then a Blackburn win tonight would have been better.
Impossible to say at this stage.
All we can do is win our own games and the rest will sort itself out.

It's not just who the other teams are playing but the quantity of games that will be coming, its going to test us all , especially in April. Giving Connolly and Balagun starts might not have worked yet but it will help us and them later in the season as we deal with injuries and just plain match tiredness.

I think Sheff United will be in the playoffs and Blackburn will miss out so I’d rather Blackburn won, though a draw would be perfect

I think a Blackburn win tonight is the best result for us. We're in the play-off positions, so any team currently below us losing is the best possible result- even if that means teams currently above us beating them.

I don't think we'll finish top two, so finishing 6th is as good as finishing 3rd imo. We'll likely be the one team the play-offs that everyone else there will want to avoid.

We seem to have the least number together with Blackburn

Yes I think this is right. Finishing 3rd means you play a potentially less good team but all the top 6 teams will be good

Are people ruling Luton out of the running? They are level with Forest and have a game in hand.
Someone ruled out Huddersfield last week then the next day they beat Fulham, Hudds have been consistently just good enough to stay up there while not looking that special until the Fulham game. I'm going to say Forest will be in the playoffs just because they have had to make up a lot of ground to even be in contention + out of all the others they seem to have the most buzz and team spirit similar to us, I would say us and Forest in the playoffs while Bouremouth need as many points as they can get in March or they may plummet in April as they go through a twice weekly must win games.

I think it will change pretty much every week until April. We play Luton next week which could be another huge game for both sides.
