When you thought they couldn't get any worse

This is all about trying to secure members votes if he gets to the ballot. He is playing to Tory rank and file members - proper blue nose toffs with money and a long standing hatred of equality and fairness - not the new northern plastic Tories who simply forgot where they had come from and hate foreigners.

That's the problem they have with their voting system. 100,000 Tory members, many of whom are right thinking activists will decide who our next PM is from a short list provided by the party MPs. And most will want a return of fox hunting and it is not surprising all the candidates are supporting Rwanda deportations,

Listen before I'm peleted, I agree with you all. But let's face it. There isn't a tory leader they could pick that anyone here would say "oh thats ok I like home" there's just varying degrees of bad. At least hunt was pro remain and may reverse this terrible idea of tearing up the current agreement. I honestly can't think of anyone in this party I'd like to see as leader

I see your Jeremy Hunt and raise a Lia Nici.

This creature has been elected as an MP. They are called Tory scum for good reason.

Isn't that testament in itself, of how far the current leadership (not just the PM) have let the party veer to the right, that there's not a single person who you could say "they're at least a safe pair of hands".

At this stage it's become a play to the gallery of coming up with more and more reactionary and headline grabbing ideas that'll appeal both to the current membership and also the right wing media.

Someone will be advocating gun boats in the channel before a new leader is appointed, I'm sure of that.

Labour have made a good job of voting in leaders ? I remember when they chose the wrong Miliband that went well. 😕

Would not trust a word any of the persons standing say. You just have to look at the tax promises by most of them. I bet almost all of them voted in favour of all the recent tax rises.

So the fox hunting statement, shameful as it is, does not surprise me.

Did they vote in the wrong Milliband or not just the one you/others wanted. Ed was shamefully attacked by the press although nothing compared to the Corbyn fiasco and the Bacon buttie thing was a disgrace. When you see Ed Milliband speak these days he come across really well compared to the idiots we currently have in Government.

I agree with him in as much as I proffered David, but its not even close to the choice available now.

I suppose he was wrong choice in that they didn't take into account how well he could eat a bacon buttie and how "slick" his media persona was. It shouldn't have mattered but it did. Our media are far too influential and too many of the population are far too easily manipulated.

I bet most would struggle to think of anything about why he'd have made a poor leader beyond the superficial.

Fact of the matter is, as you say, he's light years ahead of any of the Tory candidates for leader. I think he'd make an excellent PM, particularly now given his experience. Although that ship has well and truly sailed

Everything that we find sickening, ridiculous and totally untruthful by these people is, remember, aimed at 100,000 individuals, that’s on a good day….members of the Tory party. Who will to a large extent by their candidate selection be responsible for the direction of the country for at least the next two years.

I assume you prefer the flouncing extraordinary rendition enthusiast, now making a handsome living running Thunderbirds?
