When will we see a Boro press conference announced?

Does a new manager need a press conference to be introduced in the modern game? I can't remember if Wilder did one, not that I'm saying he didn't.

Every first team new signing used to involve a press conference but they don't do them any more so I imagine eventually new managers will go the same way. I would much rather Carrick spend the extra time on the training pitch than fielding inane questions from pre approved reporters.
I think with the scale of the appointment and the task at hand a press conference would be required.. also the level of reassurance the fans are looking for would require this.

Yes he did - it was actually in person - all of Warnock's were through zoom. Wilder wanted to meet and greet everyone personally. But then covid returned and press conferences slipped back to zoom for a while.

They will make a big deal of this I believe. It often sets the tone as well as lays out a plan. For better or for worse - Gordon Strachan was downright insulting to a couple of journalists in his first conference. That certainly set the tone from him.

The club will want to invite as much outside media as possible for the new appointment - they will want as much publicity as they can generate from as many tv, newspapers and radio outlets. The situation is very different with Leo as caretaker.
I expect there will be a bit of notice before the press conference.
Yeah definetly but it’s likely they will do a pre interview with the media guys at the club first before the press conference. All clubs do it when a new manager is appointed

He'll have been reading this board, and how we don't like to fulfil promises to managers.

He's either done a runner, has had another offer, is reading the contract with a fine-toothed comb, or is telling Boro they need to change their ways (which will involve sacking a few people).
