What will the crowds be like in league 1

I think if the worst were to happen, we’d be looking at around 16k-18k in year 1, the longer the stay were to be the decline in numbers would continue somewhat with crowds swelling for bigger games or boxing day etc. I don’t want to contemplate such a situation just yet, but I hope the club have it on their radar to avoid.

I'm not sure 12000-14000 is our floor.
A few seasons scraping around the bottom of The Championship would see that dwindle. Maybe not as drastically as during 83-86, but if there was no light at the end of the tunnel I think season tickets could go as low as 5000-7000.
 
Love this time of year when all the bed wetters come out to play. Let's see where we are at on the final day eh.
 
I actually think we'd average 18-20k for our first season. The expectations would be there for us to win games and bounce straight back up.

If we didn't go straight back up though the numbers would soon drop. A few seasons in League One would probably see us drop down to crowds of 10k.
 
Personally I’m ok with Div 1
But
My heart will go out to those more emotionally and financially invested than me.

I’ve been there and it hurts like hell 😔
 
What were the crowds like under Strachan/Mogga 14k? Expect similar.

May have a lot more walk up / floating fans .....assuming Gibson doesn't hike the prices to cover lost ST revenue.......

People speculating about the size of our fan base doesn't automatically mean they think we will go down.
I don't think we will go down but find it interesting to talk about previous seasons and what happened.
 
Been going since 1969, are boro through and through and went to many of those games in div 3 away to Rotherham, Chesterfield, Doncaster etc. Great fun but it’s a helluva lot tougher now than it was then. Unfortunately that’s where I think we are heading as I haven’t seen many worse performances than that first half last night.
 
I'd imagine pretty decent by league 1 standards.

That's said no international breaks.....always look for a positive 😂
