What on earth has happened to Jones the last 10-12 months

To be fair you could say the same about Mcnair / Howson and Crooks.

I would say all 3 (along with Jones) were our best players by a country mile last season. They all look a shadow of the players they were.

How good was the Crooks / Jones link up down the right last season? They look like they've never played together at times this season. I've never seen so many miss placed passes.

Its just really odd how we find ourselves where we are. I genuinely thought we had enough to challange the top 2 never mind a playoff place.

And so is saying he’s rubbish, he’s hiding, he’s regressed etc etc like a load of fans have been doing recently. Also he may
mis hit a few passes and crosses or make some wrong decisions but if he didn’t do that he wouldn’t still be here he’s be premier league. He put in a lot of good balls as well yesterday that didn’t work because of his team mates errors and not his.

He’s not the perfect player but he gives his all and tries, our fickle keyboard warrior fans need to get off his back and get behind him.

You’d soon all be whinging if he buggers off in Jan and who could blame him, he carried this team for half of last season and in his struggles this year instead of encouragement he gets abuse.
Absolutely spot on Priv 👍

He is having to adjust to different players supporting him, last season Djiksteel and Crooks would be in moving around him and making angles and passes, this season he has a different formation and Smith as the full back additionally he is expected to play further forward so it has been a learning experience for him. And of course, he is now a "threat" that opposing teams will look to nullify.

His discipline seems to be improving slightly he raced to five cards but seems to have slowed down accumulating them recently. He's getting there don't expect too much from him, he's not going to win games on his own for us and he is contributing to our threat going forward.
This.

The RH link up with Crooks and Dijksteel worked really well last season, helped him massively.

The teams form/shape/confidence went off a cliff this season, and Jones has clearly suffered.

He's now been moved from a wingback to a RH midfielder, Crooks and Dijksteel aren't there, new system. Oh, and the fact he's pretty much double marked every game and teams have plenty of tape on him - know exactly how to play him.

Need to persevere with him, but he needs to help himself in developing his game - he's a young lad, 18 months into his professional career, lot to learn.

Hopefully he's going to play a big part in our resurgence under Carrick 👍

I don’t think there’s many people saying he’s rubbish. Plenty questioning certain aspects of his game recently - delivery, going past defenders, temperament, decision making.

He probably is still our most likely individual outlet but he could be much more effective. It’s almost like when a striker needs 5/6/7 chances before he’ll eventually score, similar with Jones in that this season you don’t get the expectation that there’s a goal coming every time he’s got the ball wide.

This, in particular crooks not being fit / struggling for game time has effected Jones. They complemented each other well.
