What is your cut off time for a sub

Barring injuries of course realistically how long do you think players need to get into the game esp strikers.

I’d say ideally 30 mins but 20 would be my answer.

No more subs after 75 mins, including for injuries as too often players feign these injuries

I think any later than 77 minutes is to late for a game changing sub in a positive manner generally. But to shut the game down and time waste whatever which is the go to thing these days you can make an impactful sub any time

An often quoted line is 'it only takes a second to score a goal', so potentially even q ridiculously late sub could work. However, the chances/probability of that sub having the desired impact probably decrease the longer the game goes on.

I usually think the last 15-20 mins is usually the cut off point though.

Surely having 5 subs and the other team being able to make 5 changes means it is a different ball game.

I think if it’s a planned sub you should give them half an hour. If we’re ahead and want to field some sh!thöusery then right up to the whistle.

Depends what you mean by impact. If it's only measured by them putting the ball in the net then it's going to look like it's difficult to make an impact. If you are defending a lead and you bring on a defensive player they can make an impact just because it allows you to play a different shape. If you bring on an extra striker and it creates a bit of space for the striker that's already on then that's an impact. Bring on someone that doesn't really improve anything but it means the player you took off that had run out of energy doesn't make a mistake then they've made an impact.
