What is your credit score and what boosts it?

I do this, mainly to collect the Avios and get upgrade vouchers for BA, but have a direct debit that automatically takes the balance from my current account on a monthly basis. Given the dreadful interest rates on current accounts there's not a huge value in having the money for 7 weeks or whatever, but it does provide a level of protection by using your credit card.

The only challenge I have is a lot of places (more up north I've noticed) dont take AMEX and so I need to have a separate Mastercard for those circumstances.
I'm much the same, but I have cashback cards. The AMEX one I get at no cost, as it's the replacement for my American one. I have a Lloyd's one for where they don't take AMEX, but the cashback rate is not as good. I pay the full balance by direct debit every month.

999 on one site 997 on another. Only checked it as i was refused credit by O2 for a sim contact. Since then I have been asking why but they are not replying to my requests.

Is that the one that’s out of 710 though?

If so, nice humble brag….. 😉
?? No I said it’s out of 710 ( my score is of no interest to anyone but me) - just saying that usage of a credit card has major benefits if you pay off each month. Up to 59 days free credit, avios vouchers and consumer credit protection. Despite that the cs is affected by the balance you pay off each month - it goes down a few points if you spend more on your card even if you don’t pay any credit interest. It is calculated on the balance vs the limit.

Was only joking man.

I have never looked at or been told my credit score. Never been refused credit.
It must be due to always paying what I'm supposed to on time.
If I have a look just to see will this effect my credit score ?

No it won't; I occasionally check mine, just out of interest.

I check mine a lot. It is important to me and I had to work hard and jump through hoops to get it to a reasonable place.
It's nice that some people aren't affected by it or can pay cash for everything and live off the grid. But not everyone is in that position.
