What is you wow Aldi purchase?

They do a fresh pasta tortellini type thing stuffed with porcini that (combined with their tomato and marscapone sauce) you would be happy paying £20 for in a restaurant.
Their melton mowbray pork pies are the best I've had, far better than the overrated Dickinson & Morris (and of course a third of the price).
The sriracha rice snacks are mint too.
Finally, the giant caramel buttons are the most moreish confectionery going

Aldi do a range of low carb pastas (black bean spaghetti etc), for just over a £1 per box I think. I’m pretty sure I used to buy the exact same ones a few years ago from whole foods for £4ish

Go about 7pm and you get allsorts with 70% off. My freezer is jammed with aldi meat!
At xmas i got a piece of beef priced £34 for £8 and 2x Ducks priced £20 for £5 each

I have been to LIDL in Guisborough in the evening and picked up a carrier bag of food less than £5 - most orange sticker 30% off or green sticker 20p items - nothing wrong with the stuff, quite a bit a few days off sell by.

Lidl do a decent little veg pizza on the bakery section for 59p.

In the Lidl Italian week the Creme di Limoncello is 10 out of 10 for quality. It retails for £7.99 I think which is the price of a decent bottle of wine, but you are getting full bottle of lemon creme liquer as good as any bottle of Bailey's.

Some LIdl's shops do boxes of Fruit and Veg for £1.50 - I would say their retail value for the box contents is around £8, but of course you might not want all the items or not be able to eat them all before they go off (say in 5 days time)

Aldi meats can be very good. We've taken Christmas a little 'less seriously' over the last few years and it's coincided with us having our best Christmas dinners, with turkey and pork from Aldi.

At a BBQ a couple of weeks ago the meat and ribs were superb, I asked where they got them from, Aldi and Lidl.

Whilst on the subject of meat, a couple of weeks ago I was chatting to a restauranteur and we were discussing some of the decent value steaks about, I mentioned his reasonably priced steak dinners and asked him about the quality of his meat. He said he bought from the same place as a booming steak house chain despite his meals being around half of the price they charged.

One further amazing product we've found recently are these cheese fondue-type dips things that come in little ceramic bowls, about £2.70 each. They take a minute to heat in the microwave and they're incredibly good. There's a cheddar one, one with chorizo and a goat's cheese one. Buy an Aldi part-bake olive bread, bake it and cut into small pieces to dip. Great pre-dinner snack with a few beers on a Friday night. Guests will be impressed

Lidl's bakery is sensational.

Every time I walk in Lidl, I never fail to buy something from the bakery aisle as you first walk in. Pecan plaits and granola slices are delicious and so cheap compared to the big 4.

And the fresh bread - sourdough, tiger loaf and panini's 👌

Bought pair of hiking boots other month, priced £20 but only charged 12.99 at checkout. Better than the £100 berghaus ones i had previous.

All of the single malts especially the lslay.
All about half the price of branded whiskies

Williams Bros. Blood Orange IPA. It's been my go to beer for the last 18 months, and also a significant part of why I've put on nearly 2 stone in that time

Their Speyside Malt is one of the best I've ever tasted.
Trouble is many others think so...... rarely in stock.
