What if McNair AND Fry are out for the playoffs?

It would be Dijksteel at CB and Smith at RB for me, if they are both fit but McNair and Fry are not.

There’s a big difference with Howson slotting in at CB while we are 3-1 up at home against a Hull team who’s heads have dropped and playing without a recognised striker, compared to starting the game away to Luton.

Can’t believe people are suggesting taking our best midfielder Howson out of MF to play as a make shift CB. If Fry and McNair are out the obvious option is Smith to CB assuming fit and Djiksteel to RB. Djiksteel doesn’t have the physical presence to play CB in a two. Otherwise it’s bring in Bilongo!

We have a preference to play out from the back. McNair, despite being a sometime midfielder often looks very uncomfortable doing it. The person who looks assured - is Howson. His heading ability might come into question but a ball-playing CB with a range of passing can scare other teams. The advantages 'might' outweigh the shortcomings.

I think there are options if the worst happens and smith and Mcnair are injured, Both Bola and Dijksteel could slot in with Lenihan or maybe it is time to promote from within?

Is there another academy CB ready to step inn?

Why not go 3 at the back for a game or two till the others return or like someone has mentioned bring up one of the youngsters.

If not 3 at the back bring in bilongo and go back to 4 at the back, be a great time to see what the young lad has 👍

Bilongo missed the last u21 match so I hope he isn't injured as well! George Gitau who can play RB and CB and was on the bench earlier in the season could be involved too.
