What happens to old variants?

We've had the South African and the Kent variant, but never hear of these now. It seems that every time there's light at the end of the tunnel, a new variant comes along that is the 'worst ever'.

Do you ever get the feeling we're being played?

OK, I'll bite what would be gained by us being 'played' by talking up a pandemic and keeping the economy closed? Those who want to play us have much simpler methods by which they do this already!

No, I get the feeling you aren't very well read on this subject.

Variants that spread easier usurp and effectively kill off weaker variants because the weaker variants run out of hosts to infect. Those SA and Kent variants still exist but are finding it harder to spread and may eventually disappear.

I guess you don't agree with Darwinism and think that the disappearance of Neanderthals had nothing to do with the growth of a more successful species like homosapiens?

You guess wrong.

Yes - never in history have some many been gas lit 24/7. It’s worked a treat mind. It’s almost as if germs never existed before December 2019 came along

I always get the impression that wild conspiracy theorists like funky have fundamental problems in their own lives and use the crazy theories as an excuse to blame someone else for them. Don’t do it mate. We are all struggling in our own ways. No need to make things up to justify it

I don’t but just because something isn’t in the news doesn’t means it’s disappeared
Why do you think we’re being played.
he's being subjective not objective, he wants the answer to be that we are being played so his fitted an opinion ('we don't hear about kent and SA variants') to his internal narrative ('I don't want to believe what tens of thousands of experts are telling me, because I don't like how it impacts me') as being evidence when it's anything but. It's the typical internal narrative of the conspiracy theorist

What a pleasant board this is.
I think the point is that you claim to understand the ideas of Darwin yet are ignorant of how they apply to the domain of a virus. If you understand Darwinism then you would understand why certain virus strains will supercede others and reduce the relevance of previous ones. Survival of the 'fittest'.

You understand darwinism, so apply it to covid. Then ask yourself why you would jump to some idea that we are being 'played'? Ask yourself by who, and who would need to support this alleged big lie that is playing us...thousands and thousands of people from around the world with their own agendas would have to work together to create and perpetuate this big lie....ergo it isn't a lie, stop jumping to silly conclusions.
