What for you was the most unlikeliest Boro win in history?

Probably doesn't sound that unlikely but I remember when we beat Derby 2-0 away from home in the Quarter Final of the FA cup in 97. Up to that point we'd never won a Quarter final in the fa cup and it seemed like we a were a bit cursed! Derby were strong at home we were poor away from home and I was fully expecting a defeat
Cue a dominant 2-0 win!

Of course at halftime against Steau, at that point that would be the most unlikely win.
Absolutely. I almost crashed the car when I heard the second go in!
After witnessing multiple fa cup qf heartbreaks I couldn't quite believe it.
Our lass couldn't understand what was going on when I had to pull over to take it in.

Beating WHU (Moore Peters Hurst Best) 2-1
Beating Man Utd (Best Laws Charlton) 2-1 after the 0-0 away
Beating Man City 1972 in the FA Cup 1-0 after the 1-1 away
Beating QPR 6-2 in after being 2-0 down. I thought we would get hammered (The McIlmoyle game)

The Port Vale game at Hartlepool, took me 10 minutes to figure out who we had left, greatest season imho, greater than 73/74 but that's another season that was incredible.

The Derby 2-0 FA Cup QF will stay with me for life. That got shot of all the curse bollox. A different club after that result, finally beat Hoodoo that had been with the club since its inception. Cried like a baby

Probably lots more ....But
Both Steua and Basel after dropping further behind at home in both games 3-0 down (on agg) at one stage, I gave us no chance at all.
I thought - well we did well to get this far, I remember the North Stand chanting " We want 2 " after we got our first goal and sniggering
I thought well can we get 2? but really I thought it was just to watch - this was as far as we got!

Got well carried away here, sorry.

Couple of Chelsea ones stand out for me......think 2005/6 we beat them 3-0....might have been the home game after the season ticket throwing incident and we also beat them 2-1 in what might have been Southgate's first game. Also remember us beating Liverpool 2-0 at home in our 2008/9 relegation season when we hadn't won in the league for about 4 months.

How about 1st Prem season newly promoted and beating reigning champions Leeds, including Eric Cantona, 4-1 with a team that included Ian Ironside and Willie Falconer
That was brilliant and totally unexpected. Then it turned out that Leeds were crap and didn't win an away match all season.
Maybe we broke them in that game?
They were pretty close to getting relegated with us.

I think for me might have been when we beat Arsenal 3-0 away, under Venables. We still needed the points to stay up, and they were still in with a shout of the title I think.

Or maybe the 'first' win at Old Trafford when we went up 3-0, as a newly promoted side, to win 3-2 (Gordon, Ricard, Deane). That was their treble season too, just before Christmas.
last game they lost that season i think, quality away day

Derby in the quarter final, screaming were goin to e feckin semi final when rav scored the second mental day, chelsea in the playoffs in the battle of the bridge after slaven missed the sitter it seemed as if time stood still waiting for the final whistle

Before a ball was kicked - Arsenal, Semi Final 2nd leg
During a game - Steaua, no way did i think we would do it again
