What do Everton, Wolves and West Ham know the we don't

Those clubs could have other players who may compensate for his flaws.

Not many whinged about Hoyte when we bought him, but when he was running into a dead end at Arsenal, he had Fabregas to pass to and get back in shape. We didn't have anything like that so it looked like he made more errors with us.

With stronger centrebacks and more capable midfielders, some managers might feel able to just play to Spence's strengths instead of worry about his shortcomings.

Could be talking of Traore with that statement.
 
It's purely low risk versus reward. 5mil is nothing for a decent prem club. They can buy him and probably loan him out if he doesn't look up to it in training.

The fact is he's young and English and has a lot of 'traits' you want in a modern fullback. He's quick / direct and athletic. He just needs to actually use his brain and pick the best option.
He would only need to play 20-30 games and he'd be worth 4 times what they paid. That's why a decent sell on clause is a must👍

Never said they did but did have same traits. And Spence has something about him. Obviously something you don't see but then there is none so blind as those who cannot see.
 
We’re desperate to get into the premier league selling him coukd help us keep the likes of fry and tav in a yrs time if we manage to get promoted

Hoyte was awful I’ve never seen a player hide from the ball as much as him. He’d deliberately stand behind an opposition player so no one could pass to him.

Thing is, West ham valued Fletcher at around £2m, or at least that was what Leeds could have signed him for 6 months earlier.

Which begs the question - why did we pay £7m?

So here we are 1 year later and Djed is still with us and the football club wont entertain anything under £15M + add ons.


Spurs the most linked suitors are busying themselves for a £100m bid for Richarlison & Anthony Gordon - the business for Djed will have to wait.

as will Boro.
 
The problem we have is. We would like as much as possible for him which is obvious. By all account he does not want to play for us. If he is not sold by the start of the season we have a problem. No cash and a player that would rather be some where else.

Just because Spurs won’t play ball doesn’t mean that we can’t accept offers from other clubs or send him out on loan.

Boro won’t have to wait. We can just sell him to the highest bidder from all the other top drawer clubs that are falling over each other to sign him.

Not sure where they have all gone, mind 🤔
