I still cannot get over the fluidity of this team. The intricacy and pockets of space we pick up in the midfield are a joy to watch. To think Hackney was just an academy player last season, he has been a revelation in the middle of the park. Watford blow hot and cold, and they were awful today, but you cannot take that away from the lads. The energy levels and effort the players are putting in are a great testament to what Carrick and Woodgate are building. I hope we can improve on set pieces. In tight games, they can make a difference. You do get the feeling with the chances we are consistently creating, we are due to give someone an absolute pasting. I hope more fans can turn up to support the boys and we do a Forest from last season and go all the way.

We got into Watford today and they didn't fancy it. Howson had clearly been told to get stuck in. Worked a treat and then we could play round them whilst they stood and watched.
Not only great tactics but well executed by the players.

The difference this year is the whole team are involved in how we play and in each game someone else shines. McGree was good today, Smith was excellent, Chuba is ridiculous - I worry someone will offer us a stupid amount before Tuesday. Forss and Archer are terrifying in terms of pace and movement.

I love it.
 
I said to my mates today, we absolutely ran them ragged for the first 65 minutes. Managed the game well in the later stages.

How many times in recent seasons have we played really well first half then came out sluggish in the second and invited teams on. 4-5 nil wouldn’t have flattered us today.

We were excellent. Every single player played a part. Hackney was very influential in the middle, and thought McGree’s link up was excellent.

Archer looks some player. He’ll do very well against some of the Championship Carthorses at CB.

Let’s go on another run! We’re good enough to go again!
 
Archer's running in behind created a lot of space for others to exploit.

I love how we play those little one-twos and players are constantly making angles for their team-mates to receive the pass.

I also love that even at 2-0 up Steffen was looking to throw the ball out to Giles quickly and we were looking to attack. It was relentless at times.
 
The transformation with the same squad except for the addition of Archer shows how much more of a tune Carrick is getting out of them than the manager who signed quite a few of them ie Wilder
 
Been watching boro full time since 86 and I have to say that was one of the best passing performances I have seen by the boro. The movement and space they were making was fantastic.
