What’s the earliest you’ve been in a ground?

With tomorrow’s ludicrous KO time it’s got me wondering how early have you been in a ground? For me I remember being in the Reebok before Jordan Rhodes two late goals and the PA guy announcing “good morning and welcome ..”

Also waiting for the turnstiles to open at pride park this season. Coaches. Got us there for 10 ish 🤯

Last January for the Chelsea home leg, my mothers’s funeral was held in York, and my wife and daughter dropped me off at the Riverside on the way home, about 5:30. There was a cold wind up the river, and I was very happy that the turnstiles opened 5 minutes early at 6:25pm. I was first to the bar in West Upper, a couple of minutes before the next person. The match warmed me up though - it was a tremendous atmosphere!

For the infamous Wolves match me and my mates all skinny teens wanted to make sure we were centre of the holgate so were straight in at opening, 1.30 pretty sure it was nearly full by 2.

Just realised you meant time of day! Seem to remember playing Bradford New Year’s Day late 80s maybe? And got there a couple of hours early for a 12 kick off

There used to be 11 or 11:30 kick-offs when I started going in 1991. I can’t remember if Boro ever had one of those but if they did I’d have been in the ground by 10 or 10:15, our Mam loved getting us there about 75-80mins before kick-off. It was a ritual, home and away.

Back in the day at Ayresome Park me and my mates would meet after St and Greavsie, walk to YK Chow for curry and chips, then walk to wait for the ground to open at 130. Straight in, sit on the steps of the Holgate until players came out for warm up.

Once went to Elland Road on a corporate for Leeds v Man U that kicked off at 1130, was in hospitality area about 9am for breakfast (and a pint 😱). 1-1 draw, the atmosphere was terrible and the game not much better.

West ham, went down on the ra ra’s bus. Into the ground around 11.30. Me and my now good lady sat and read the programme from end to end.

We got beat, actually we might have drawn think Bernie scored a late equaliser. We

If you’re a Blackburn fan travelling by train, you’ll have to set off at 7am (so probably be up before 6am), to guarantee getting here in time for kick off. For two teams 90 miles apart, I’d say that is ludicrous.
Well the 7.04am from Blackburn gets you to Middlesbrough at 10.23am, so you could leave at 8am, but Blackburn is one of those places where train makes no sense as there is no direct route across the Dales. So if by car/coach you don’t need to leave til at least 8.30 (or later).

I’m just not sure ludicrous is the word I’d used for this one. Maybe if it was Bournemouth.

To be fair our kick off time is actually relatively alright. What a fecking mess this years FA cup is.

Spread out over 5 days / nights. Just look at how many different kick off times we have today. 1200/1500/ 1745 / 1800. Why 1745😂?. I guess so someone in Asia can watch Leeds v Harrogate.
