What’s the difference between us and Sunderland?

Seriously interested to know what people think is the difference. Both teams:

•lost their best goal scorer
•lost their best loan players
•and recruited relatively cheaply.

So… why are they flying while we are anchored at the bottom?

Note: this is not a veiled attack on the manager, but a genuine question to poll the thoughts of the board.

Boro have a plan as well though. Just because it isn’t working at the moment doesn’t mean there isn’t one. It might eventually work, it might not. Not every plan is good. Some of them are sh*t. But they’re still plans.
Do we

Was our plan to sell akpom and not replace him

I just don’t see any.

We have replaced him in name replacing him in quality was always going to be tough with our budget and history of signing players.

They have a manager who can squeeze quality out of limited players but for only a short period as viv says.

We have replaced him in name
But we haven’t as latte lath wasn’t meant to replace akpom we needed a striker to replace akpom carrick all but admitted in his coburn interview..,it we never got one.

Coburn was all but sealed to Plymouth this season. He was not meant to be here hence why carrick won’t use him.

Latte replaced archer and I presume rogers and greenwood are no.10s. Unless I've missed something.

I presumed we wanted another striker as back up or competition for latte and didn't which is why coburn stayed

Tony Mowbray he finds diamonds on pebble beaches

What really scared me today was that bench

Rogers
Silvera
No Engel ( poss injured)
Barlasser
Greenwood

That’s 5 players signed in the last window binned already or deemed not good enough to start.

That is hugely worrying to see that we’ve moved on already.
They’re not ‘binned already’ though, come on. They’re young players who will come in and out of the eleven as the season moves on and hopefully one, two or all of them will make themselves undroppable. Barlaser may be a bit of an outlier with that theory but the others, they haven’t been written off by anyone half sensible.

All players that left have been replaced by Netto quality. Gibson can't afford to fund it, limited revenue streams to get around FFP. Why don't Bulkhaul sponsor us for some blatant insider trading like other clubs I.E Sela and Newcastle

Carrick doesn't want to change from 4231 exactly like Wilder didn't want to change his 3 at the back. The blinkered approach will be his undoing but sadly Woodgate will just step back in

They can afford that though. We can’t.

To see that bench did worry me that’s my honest view.
We are going through a rough spell and I think if he started them today we could of got a hiding (i know we nearly did anyway) i think he went for a more experienced team today it didn't work.

I don't think silvera is upto it tbh. I wrote rogers off immediately but he has shown he can create. We need to put them away. The others we have to see. This spell were having we need our experienced players to step up,today they were no where near again

Replace Akpom with who? Akpom last season was an absolute one off in terms of the quality he produced, it’s very very hard to have a player as good as that in a championship side
Our plan is pretty clear for people to see but our fans haven’t got the patience
