Wetherspoons closes 39 pubs

Although many are happy at the demise of Tim Martin and others that voted Brexit, what you need to remember is it is not only the workforce that are losing their jobs but also the supply chain that supplies these establishments. It will also create empty premises in areas that could well do without it.

I hate Brexit and all the ferkers that voted tory, but it is time we moved on from this argument and worked to get the country back on an even keel.

I just hope we all remember who caused these problems when we next go to the polls.

Tell me about it, we've been looking for a chef since November but the good and great ones are comfortable in their current roles. Business is still great for us though, even this month has been busier than usual, even this last weekend before this week's payday we got slammed all weekend.
Good news. By the way is your pub’s owner German ? You have a big German influence on your menus.

Was in your gaff this morning Randy.

Here is a full list of the 39 pubs that are currently up for sale/going.

Surprised at the WaterHouse in Durham, less so about Resolution in the boro. Odd they are keeping both the darlington ones though.
Not really. I go in both most friday nights and they're easily the most popular bars in D'ton town centre.

Hopefully locals might take on any of those buildings that have a bit of character and make a go of them.

I really don't think we can when we have so many brexit denialists around. It's clear it has made pretty much every problem we face worse or harder to deal with. Yet some still continue to defend it. Despite them knowing it's damaging the country. More businesses are going to close and more people will be put of work. All because of this cult that can't admit it was conned. The two big political parties won't touch beeixt because of these people. So no, it won't heal until we acknowledge it

I also don't think the stance of 'I told you so' helps matters. People don't like being told that they are wrong and dig their heels in, something you demonstrated the other day.

We had one of the best posters on this board ridiculed because he voted for Brexit and he's never returned since that thread.

It's bit about voting brexit and it's not about I told you so. It's about people being able to acknowledge their mistakes. Step away from the cult of brexit, so the politicians realise they don't have to keep destroying the country trying make it work

That can only happen at the next election, that is when we see if they have seen the errors of their ways.

Edit: It is pointless and unhealthy taking delight in the country's downfall.

I agree with the first bit and no one takes delight in the second bit
