West Brom vs Boro - Highlights

Their 2nd goal just highlights how badly we need to sign a ball-winning midfielder before the window closes, and a new CB. Why didn't Fry get out quicker to him and close him down?

Having just heard Carricks thought on the game I am wondering if Woodgate helped him out with what to say. He was encouraged by what he saw and he isn’t concerned about our defending 👀

Just watched the highlights, as a defensive unit we are very poor at the moment and if Carrick has said he is not concerned about it I don‘t believe him.

It may be unpopular thing for me to say but everything seems to going against us as well at the moment. Deflected pass at Coventry to the player in front of goal, own goal against Huddersfield, a foul in the box 5 yards from the referee today either missed or ignored.

It’s often said though you make your own luck and the level of urgency, care and professionalism Boro have showed so far this season is well below what we can legitimately expect As fans.

We have seen many teams in the championship just make it difficult for the opposition to break them down Boro have to start to buy into some of that.

The first goal - two of defenders on the big WBA player and he still wins the ball from a long throw.

For the second, no midfielder at all challenged Swift and Fry's challenge wasn't exactly full bodied.

The third - unbelievably bad - I had enough of this short passing near our own goals when under pressure it is literally costing us goals. One conceded at Huddersfield was similar that two goals literally handed over in 5 games.

The fourth, just failed to clear, by trying to play intricate at the edge of our area we gave away another soft goal.

I can see how WBA manged to score 4 goals with 7 chances - with 7 chances a team should only score once.

First time I've seen the goals. Was expecting a much more clear cut push on Howson from what I'd read on here and heard on the radio. I don't normally fall on this side of the robust play debate but that doesn't look like a foul to me.

To be fair Carrick or no other manager should come out on an interview and stag his players off, you are leading a team you take the heat when the team is failing and you accept responsibility as you are managing that team.

I am sure in the changing room etc Carrick has his words with the players.
