Well the feckers got me!!

Diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday afternoon....such a shock...no family history...right side of 50 etc etc. Yesterday we cried....today my attitude has totally changed....and "Arthur" (as my daughter has named it because it's always blokes who cause the aggro and luckily she has the same dark sense of humour as I do in these situations) can go and f@@k himself....I don't intend on letting him stay long!!
I can only echo what others have said... huge shock to you and your family, but try and be strong and fight all the way till you;ve kicked its backside. Everybody to a person on the board is rooting for you and as you know, everybody has an ear for you anytime you want an outlet if you need it.

Being positive doesn't mean you can't let yourself go and allow yourself to be upset - that is completely normal too and it doesn't mean you're being weak or negative. It's simply letting go of some anger and worries then going again with everything you've got.

Best of wishes in your fight, we're all here with you and can't wait to see the day you get the all clear.

I am so sorry to read that Legz but sounds like you are in a good place mentally to fight it. If you ever need to talk to or sound off on someone we are all here for you. You are always welcome to join our little group for a coffee.

Take care and best wishes.

You certainly do have the right attitude Legz! Our lass went through the ordeal at 50 and now, at 58, she has been fully recovered for a few years and is now happily commencing with the retirement chapter of her life. You will be in our thoughts. Keep smiling and stay strong.

Stay positive.
I've had two close family members have breast cancer in recent years. Both were successfully treated at James Cook with very little ill effect, in and out in one day for an operation, a handful of radiotherapy sessions and then medication as a follow up.
