Well done to the fans in the stadium tonight

We’re all disappointed with the result tonight, but I thought the fans were excellent yet again. Each time we conceded, they were immediately behind the team. I really hope this continues. It can only help the team.

The drowning out of the boos for QPR taking the knee was also great to see.

I was quite surprised to see them do
It as they were the ones who ultimately changed our stance.

Shame we have to laud our fans for droawning out the booing though. We should be ridding ourselves of those scum

I wasn't there so it's interesting to read that QPR take the knee now because they originally weren't doing it as Les Ferdinand took the same view as Britt Assombalonga. Was it the booing at Millwall that changed their minds? Anyway, perhaps it's time that Boro also changed their stance. We should be telling these people they aren't wanted.

Can we not put it down to individual choice? They do that in rugby and players themselves decide whether they want to take the knee or not. Seems more open and means players who object to that form of protest can and players who support it can show their support. Regardless of the team stance.

It is a shame and I was disappointed with the “town full of rent boys” chant being sung too.

I wouldn’t be banning them at this point though. The club just needs to be more vocal about how unacceptable it is and maybe try to identify some of the more vocal fans who start these things off. They have the footage for it.

They could start by saying the chairman’s drink offer will be withdrawn from anyone found not to be living up to the standards the club expects or booing the knee will result in tickets being made invalid until kick off so those fans can’t be in the stand until after it’s been done.

Just like the 'Clapping for Carers' it has become a tokenistic, empty gesture that should be stopped as it is achieving nothing. Hence why many players and fans, black and white, do not support this. Where does it all end?

I would not condone those who boo at all as it highlights their ignorance. The whole thing has become divisive and does nothing to promote racial equality. People are free to support or reject this gimmick and value freedom of expression. Booing though only encourages more division. Best to stay silent and not clap if you don't agree with this.

It is highlighting and shining a light on the vocal, racist minority amongst us so surely that's what it achieves? Presumably we should just go back to not challenging racism and pretend it doesn't exist?

It is supposed to be divisive in my mind - racist neanderthals versus tolerant, accepting human beings?

The first step to addressing any problem is accepting that problem exists - something the last few months have perfectly demonstrated. As for action, it really isn't that difficult - just stop being racist. I'd be amazed if people were unaware that racism is perceived as a negative rather than a positive by society so in my mind it's a deliberate act shielded by the anonymity of a crowd.

It has now become a meaningless gesture which has probably diluted the message rather than empowered it. There needs to be something different now clearly. If this wasn't the case why are so many black players not taking part? That to me encapsulates their views also that it is counter productive.

Disagree with this. The fact there is stil booing is showing the message isn't getting across. I'm happy for it to continue until we can get rid of the racists from our football club.
