It wasn't a drive - it is actually a through-road, although with gates at one end.

They were part of the republican convention ( I think) a few nights ago.

No they didn't, the gates were open.
And it was the street outside, not their drive.
All they had to do was sit inside and let them walk past, the crowd had no interest in them until they came out with their guns.

Also, residents confirmed that the gates were always left open as local people used it as a cut through and photos taken after the demonstrators came through, showed no damage. Photos taken some time later however, mysteriously showed damage.
Yes, they gave a speech to the RNC echoing Donald Trump's claim that Joe Biden will abolish the suburbs and that middle-class suburban Americans, "will not be safe the radical Democrats’ America."
Also don't forget that while the protestors were peaceful and there's no evidence they caused any damage, the couple have each been charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon because of the unsafe way they brandished their weapons in the protestors' direction.

Yes, I knew they were charged, wasn't sure if the case was been heard. One would imagine their defence team is going to have to paint a vivid picture of fear etc
Still don't understand why someone needs a gun like that. Yet, there's a deep part of the psyche of the US that equates them to freedom from tyranny.
It all stems back to how they learn about 1776 etc .
It starts at a young age- my kids have to do the pledge every day at school.

I think they're due in court on August 31. The thing is, if they'd been content to just stand there on their property with their guns, they would have been fine. It's the fact that they pointed them directly at people who posed no immediate threat, that got them in trouble with the law.
For instance, in the photo on the link below, it certainly looks like the woman is more of a threat to the protestors than the other way round.
