'We have been ahead of the curve in managing Covid since the start'

I think it is fair to say we have been in a better position than some other European nations for 2 weeks before we catch up and then have worse outcomes.

I'm not sure if that puts us ahead of the curve by 2 weeks or behind it though.

Certainly leading the curve.

I can only conclude she's not sure what that expression means, but thinks it sounded good in a soundbite

Unfortunately I think they believe they are doing a great job and that they know that over time the Tory cult supporters will rally around them and say Corbyn and Abbot couldn’t have done any better and will vote for them yet again.

Lies come easy to them because they know they can get away with them.

The truth is that they have cottoned on to the fact that if you say something often enough and long enough it will stick in the heads of some people. Eventually, some people will start to see elements of these comments ringing true, and once that happens, they start to believe it maybe was true as their personal biases are touched. This applies to everyone at some point in their lives in all areas and you don’t necessarily realise it as it happens.

If we are ahead of it why so many restrictions. More like behind the drag curve and failing at every obstacle.

Goebells worked on that principle I believe and unfortunately this government has a touch of the Nazis about it.

Yep, there are people I work with, nice, decent people, who are still defending the government handling of this. Of course, they’ve no idea who is who in the cabinet but think ‘Boris’ would be a laugh down the pub, and blame the public for how this has all played out.
Decent, nice people can also be thick as mince. It’s frustrating as hell.

Patel could be in prison for treason. Working with senior military agents of a foreign power, without permission or authority from the government she was part of could easily be viewed as treasonous behaviour. Particularly as she lied about it whilst claiming to be on a family holiday.

I work with people who in their occupation have to assess evidence and statistics, and they're good at it. Yet when it comes to covid they believe "Boris" is doing a good job. It makes no sense whatsoever. Their Tory loyalty obviously overpowers their usual reasoning.
