We are only....

We were miles away from it last time we won 7 in 8
We shouldn't be getting ourselves in these situations though should we.

Even with those big streaks last season we still missed playoffs.

I don't see the point in changing manager now. I think Carrick is as likely as anyone to get us going again, but I do think if we miss play-offs next season then we need to look at change whether that be Carrick or Scott.

We had the advantage of playing against 10 last week though Mart, and a penalty in our favour. How did that go for us?

The team is mentally weak under any sort of pressure, and the bench seem to be unwilling or unable to do anything tactically to help us out when the pretty possession stuff isn't working.

As we have been pretty much since we lost Akpom and Archer.
Congratulations on the most ludicrous post of all time on fmttm. A man advantage after 87 minutes is exactly the same as a man advantage after 20 mins 🤣🤣🤣

We are a 7 or 8 game winning streak away from getting into the top 2.
We are miles away from that happening. We've won 5 games from 13.
I do understand that opinion. IF we show up on our A game consistently though we can have that streak. I am not saying we will though. Its just an opinion if everything comes together. We are not consistently bad at the minute but we aren’t consistently good. Thats up to Carrick and the players to sort out.

Why do you think it wouldn’t have continued in exactly the same vein? Is it because if Carrick’s unparalleled in game tactical fluidity?
Because we’d have grown into the game and created a lot of chances. Not really that hard to grasp is it?

The issue we have is converting them, but we have players in Conway, McGree and Azaz who have been playing well of late and were full of confidence.

Could we go on a 6 game winning streak like we did at the start of last season when it didn`t look likely
Could we go on run of 12 games with only one defeat like we did at the end of last season, when in the 12 previous to that we lost 6 and only averaged 1 point a game.

Those 2 events above didn`t look like coming especially given the start we had and the injuries throughout the season.
Anything can happen, we can go again and I think we will go again

Were still a work in progress, if we get everyone fit on form and a fair run of decisions we will go n an 8 wins in 10 run.

Do you seriously think this team, this manager and the fixture list will conspire to produce a set of results that would be (almost) the best run the club has ever managed in about 150 years?

That's an almighty triumph of hope over experience.

That is one of the most ridiculous and biased things I’ve ever read on here. They had 10 men for less than 5 minutes, which had virtually zero effect on the game. Today was 70 minutes including the two lots of injury times, completely changed the game.
It’s very very difficult playing for that length of time with 10 men.

We won 8 in 10 last year, including an efl cup game.

We did it in the 22/23 season.....under Carrick

In fact it was 9 wins in 10

We haven't had a winning streak since danks left. I honestly dont think we will unless we make some tactical adjustments

I just read as are 6 points off Plymouth. I didn't believe it so just checked. We are 😕

6 points of the bottom 3. Crackers league. I mean losing to Coventry isn't helping. QPR up next.

Thats true, but consistency let us down last season when Danks was here. I put that down to injuries at the time. I thought we had a more robust squad this season and that would improve our consistency. Obviously that is not the case at present. Time will tell.

It’s the reality of a club with our resources. We are one of about 6 clubs that are behind the 4 or 5 with parachute resources. That means we will not have consistency

Sunderland have consistency. Honestly you are just looking for any excuses now to defend the club.

It is not good enough, we should have won more games. It is on the manager and the players to get better results. Scott even said we should be targeting top 2 this season. To be where we are at this stage and to lose in the way we have at time this season is very disappointing.

Sunderland have over performed over their resources.......over 12 games. I'm looking for balance and honesty instead of knee jerk emotive rubbish like that.

Sunderland only got 4 points in 3 games against the current top 6 teams mind. We've got 6 points in 4 games against top 6. Slightly better. Their consistency is beating the lower teams. Our players should be capable of finishing the chances they've had, and they have had them. The stats and watching the games proves it.
