We are a transfer window from going up automatically.

points picked up by wilder would equal automatic promotion. The last six games are going to be TOIGHT!!

Never had so much faith in a manager since karanka. We are 3 or 4 players away from Smashing this league! UTB!

But we'll probably lose a few players as well. Tav, Fry, McNair... Balogun as well. Not saying we wouldn't replace them well but they are difficult to replace.

I think we’ll keep hold of Tav, Fry and Paddy… they all seem to buy into Wilderball 👍🏻

Who knows we may even get Flo back again for a full season

Not sure myself. At the start of the season, Warnock was saying it would it hard to keep those players if we weren't promoted this year. Maybe that's changed under Wilder. But they will surely ball want to be playing at the top level at this point in their careers.

Don't think we were expecting to receive £15-20 million for a player sent out on loan.

Agree totally.
If Wilder had started - given our form - we would have room to lose and draw the odd game.
Unfortunately, the previous incumbent wasnt able to create that consistency or positive mentality.
It is what it is.
One game doesnt define a season.
We go from elation to depression after one defeat.
Beat Hull and we will be in heaven again.

Losing Dijksteel, Fry, Hall & Bola all at the same time cost us early in the season under Warnock. I think we have enough quality to see us to 6th place in that tight tight group of maybe four teams. Not much in it at all!

If we don’t beat Hull Roofie, I’m going to cry for a week and emigrate to the North York Moors and play with steam trains!

I would be more specific and say we are a decent forward away from going up automatically. We don’t have a player in the top 20 Championship goal scorers table . There rests the reason we are not currently in the top two.

On paper with Bola back and firing on the right, McGree through the centre and Jones returning on the right we should absolutely steamroller Hull & most of those sides tbh.

We held our own against the best side in the league last night without arguably our best player.

We should logically be able to smash the playoffs too as due to our injury woes all damn season, no one has faced those 3 fit and firing and therefore wouldn't know how the hell to cope, it would be completely unplanned.

Unfortunately we know what Typical Boro likes to do too...

It feels like we're roughly following what happened at Forest. Cooper took over there about 6 weeks before Wilder. There was an initial surge, a dip and now they're gathering speed again. The same has mostly happened with us only 6 weeks later. I suspect if we had appointed Wilder at the same time as Cooper that we would be sitting much more comfortably now. That said, it's possible that Wilder may have still been deciding what to do at that point. Given that he nearly took over at WBA he may have been fielding Premier league interest and interest elsewhere. Also, Forest were much more of a basket case than us. When Wilder took over, we were mediocre. When Cooper took over, Forest were on a record-breaking run of failure.

The rest of the season is pretty much in our own hands. We have "cup finals" against Bournemouth and Huddersfield that can peg them back plus 5 supremely winnable games. If we don't make the play-offs it will be because we came up short.

That was before Djed Spence became a £20 million player! They'll all stay regardless and either be part of a premier League 11 or a side trying to win the league.

Our 5 strikers combined have only scored 24. That would only put them joint second and 14 behind Mitrovic.

Its easy to look and say we are only a player or two short but we can't guarantee our first choice players will stay fit for all of next season.

We need goals from the forward positions but we also need squad depth, last night showed how reliant this formation is on our attacking fullbacks. We need cover for positions like this as Peltier and Taylor aren't up to it and we lack depth in a few other positions as well.

yup a touch more clinical and we could smash the league, say a better GK, a CF with more goal threat, and a reserve RWB and we're golden.

If we had won last night....and we should have.....we would have got more point than Fulham since wilder took over. It's small margins, but we are very close to being good enough to smash this league

Think Tav is the one we're most likely to lose and wonder if his replacement is already here in McGree. Think a few sides are sniffing, very experienced for his age and a lot of attributes in demand from prem sides. Obviously not from the area, so maybe not as loyal as Fry might be. Is he a Leeds fan? I know he's from there. Could be a destination for him.

McNair I'm fairly confident of holding onto, seems very settled, suits the system perfectly (you'd surely only buy him if you were predominantly going to play 3 at the back) and is 27 this month. I think a lot of prem teams will query why he's not been a premier League regular before now. Not expecting silly bids for him.

Fry is somewhere in between. Playing his best football and him being a good age and English means I'm sure he'll attract attention, he's been on the radar of prem clubs for a while. But, big Boro fan, enjoying the best form of his career. Could be tempted to give it one more year to get the job done?
