WBA tickets

Looks like around only 3,500 home tickets left - could be 27k crowd depending on how many WBA bring, certainly well up on the Bristol City opening game last season (22k)

I suspect although I'm struggling to get the attendances, that if we were to top that 97/98 attendance, which will probably need another 2,000 tickets shifted, then it'll be our biggest since the 60s for an opening day outside the top flight
Suspect we will shift a good few tonight/tomorrow (always amazed how many buy last minute), but not sure it will reach another 2k.
MFC may have factored in late sales in their 27k estimate.

OK,

I've consulted Glasper: "Middlesbrough A complete Record 1876-1989", THE book for statistics and records for the Boro. Although obviously its 33 years out of date now.

So, 27K would be the 3rd highest opening day home crowd for Boro outside the top flight. The biggest since that Charlon game in 97-98.

The only other, and biggest opening day home crowd, was 58-59 when we beat Brighton 9-0, Cloughy scoring 5, with 32,367 watching on at a jam packed Ayresome.

If there are only 3.5k home tickets left it probably means Boro have sold around 25.5k leaving around 1.5k WBA to give 27k so far.
