I thought he was great today. There’s something of him that reminds me a little bit of Kenny Dalglish. He’s a clever player, can see things other players don’t and he’s so positive. Always straight off accelerating at pace on the turn, no messing about. I love it when he plays.

He never gives up, never hides, gives his all, a fantastic attitude

He definitely puts in a shift. I'd be suprised if he starts on Tuesday as he's really grafted last two games.

Then again we're poorer without him. He's got gear movent and doesn't let defenders settle.

He will need 'managing' with his injury record.

Left Sunderland with an injury and nowhere to go.
Asked a favour to fight his way to fitness and play for the Boro to prove his worth.
Fought his way into the team and proved he could perform.
Convinced the Gaffa with 40 years in Management experience he was worth a go.
Given a contract.
Never stops aspiring to greater and bigger things.
Shows ambition, drive and commitment.
He`d get in any platoon or mans army - a leader by example from the front.

I told you we wouldn’t regret it as this lad is quality what I said in June last year

“I’ve always rated him as he runs with the ball and he has an eye for goal. Not sure how that horrendous injury has took out of him though.

it’s a yes from me.”

and

“bet he gets more goals/shot on target than rudi”

“On a free though as a squad player I’d take a gamble maybe on a pay as you play deal”
