Watford v West Brom tonight.

Watford with a very convincing 4-0 win, against a 10 men (Jed Wallace sending off) West Brom who suffer 2 injuries to Swift & Albrighton meaning Watford go into Sheffield's game with confidence and Baggies go into our game with a few of their main attacking threats unavailable.

Draw, a Watford win gives too much of a points gap to them & they might ease off (even mentally) v Sheff Utd.. we need them going there chomping at the bit to win, on the front foot..

WBA a draw is probably best & they'll have to come out & attack us... giving us space to counter & score another 3 with any luck.

Watford win for me.
Keeps West Brom at bay before we play them, knocks Sunderland down a place, but our own gap to 7th remains the same.

Given Watford haven't got a game in hand, their points gains are less damaging.

Watford win and they're only in the play-offs by a point, having played a game more than almost every other side.

In the case of Luton and Millwall, it's two games more.

They'll be desperate for a win against Sheffield United whatever the result.

It's a match where I could spin myself a positive for any result though.

Hopefully it knackers West Brom's players whatever the outcome.

WBA are on a good run at home. I expect them to start as favorrites and probably win. However, Watford have good individuals in Sarr and Pedro and only takes one moment of magic for them to score. Personally, would be happy for a draw, but not a result that is critical to Boro anymore. Thankfully, we are looking upwards now!

Looking at the table, I think I have to go for a draw.

Beforehand, my thought was if WBA catch us, we've blown it anyway, and 1 more team overtaking us won't matter. However, the fact they have 2 games in hand means this is not true.

And we're guessing a bit how victory and defeat will affect teams aren't we? The assumption is that whoever loses tonight will have their confidence knocked; however, the losers tonight might react well to the pressure of Saturday being a must-win game, and come out fighting.

Go for the percentage play: draw is best.

Before the goal it was like watching Chris Wilder’s team v Chris Wilder’s team. Loads of passes but going nowhere!

Iirc Millwall play Burnley this week, & their other game in hand is v Luton.
If they get 6 points fair play to them.
