Was Jones's 'Goal' actually offside Saturday?

Was it quite a late flag? It seemed off from the East (near the North) but I'm sure the linesman didn't flag straight away.

He didn't flag straight away because the interpretation of the law is that he is only offside when he takes possession of the ball. In theory, another Boro player who was not in an offside position when the ball was played could have appeared from nowhere and then play would continue.

It would have been mad if it had counted. Could there have ever been a player who's scored in 3 games in a row and every single goal was offside!
Maybe the bloke in my profile pic!

For what it’s worth I thought he should have been given onside from where I am in the north end of the east stand. Might also need to lend the officials my red tinted glasses.

He definitely flagged before Jones had scored, because I spotted it as the ball was rolling in and was the only one in my area that didn't start to celebrate.

I think Jones was off, I'm positive one of Coburn's he gave as off he was on, and he only flagged when the defender put his arm up.

I thought he was dreadful to be honest, needs to concentrate on his profession rather than lat pull downs and wearing tight tops.
