This manager is an absolute genius. Sly little comments like this make me happy. He knows what the fans want and more importantly, what we didn't want..

"Good luck to him. He's a superb lad to work with. Somebody said he's scored more goals than Gestede in however many years he was here. I can say that, he's in another country now."

Watmore has scored the same amount of goals in 4 games as Gestede managed for us in THREE SEASONS

But remember that's the only reason we all think he's a better manager than his predecessors, because he says amusing things in press conferences... 🙄🙄🙄
He is a better manager than previous managers. A fraction of the budget and players who were gash are now better.

Mcnair / Bola / Saville / Howson / Dijksteel / Fry / Tav all better👍

The only ones who have arguably regressed are Wing and Coulson.

He can only work with what he has. I did laugh at his comments and it's all what we thought. He actually said someone in the changing room said it. So even Rudys team mates are having a pop😂

Both having their positions and roles defined it might not have them Tarmo Kinking it as the team heads for relegation.. but it will make them into better footballers.

I know, I was referencing a thread that was made after the Preston game...

I can only assume people didn't see us under woodgate if they don't think we've improved.

We nearly went down last season (we would have with 1 win in 11). We are now comfortably mid table flerting with the playoffs. That's improving 👍

The teams who are in the playoffs are all better funded with bigger squads. I'm not overly sure what people expect?

At the 18th game point last season, we snuck a 1-0 over Barnsley for only our 3rd win of the season and we were in 20th on 17 points, scoring 16 and conceding 23

This year we're in 9th, on 27 points, have scored 19 and conceded 14, and even with the previous two games can count ourselves unfortunate to not be higher.

We have improved a great deal.
But that does have to be tempered by just how bad last season was, because we'd done significantly better at this point under Pulis in the season before.
Then again, the squad has changed massively in the past year or two.

But how much money did Pulis have at his disposal compared to Warnock?

True, he had about £15m more to spend, but I suppose Saville and McNair are mainstays in Warnock's side so he is benefitting from that money spent too.

As much as Pulis spunked it up the wall, he also had to sell players to make those signings.

7 points difference after 18 games between Pulis 2018-19 and Warnock 2020-21
Pulis finished the season on 73 points.. we'll just have to see how we get on.
