That's a good wage for a championship player these days to be fair.

Depends on whether you believe it or not but Saville will be one of our top earners after Britt and Fletcher have left and is on £11k I think. He's not worth that, but that's the salary of a £7m midfielder.

Clubs should also be cutting their cloth this year (not just us). I doubt many, bar clubs with parachute payments, will be dishing out contacts over £10k a week. Think you'll see a lot of players running their contracts down because they won't be getting the same anywhere else.

Do you think any club will be able to afford wages like that at our level in this climate? Nearly £700k a year for one player? Not much money will be swilling about in the summer at any club but the top echelons I wouldnt have thought.

Isn't the average about 17k. although wildly distorted by parachute payment clubs. The median is probably closer to 10-13k
