Warnock - ‘good old Boris’

Why are you getting so muddled up? Calm down. Read my post again,

Why are you getting so muddled up? Calm down. The last point was a question, it had a question mark at the end of the sentence. It wasn’t an accusation that you said it was acceptablei
The first page has someone calling him a ‘t*t’. The other things mentioned are all there. Others I didn’t mention include ‘gullible old fool’. Have a re-read if you want proof, it all there. Pointlessly, petty name calling of the current Boro boss because people don’t like his political opinion.

Good night.
if he believes Boris is 'good' then he is gullible. In fact the fact he thinks he is some character called Boris rather than Alexander that shows his level of gullibility.

I don't need to read your post again, you are defending the indefensible. His job is Boro manager not Tory PR. He can have whatever political view he wants, but to use the position of Manager of our club to postulate the greatness of someone who couldn't identify Middlesbrough's shirt compared to Reading or Coventry or Villa's is beyond acceptable.

We know he reads here, he should apologise for his crassness, and accept using his position to back a politician is a divisive and stupid move that will lose him support. Maybe that's what he wants, maybe the task is too big for him.

Been on here over 15 years and it used to be a good forum. Was a great place to chat football and have a laugh. Now its the usual suspects ganging up and insulting anyone with different beliefs to their own. And Rob lets it go to suit his own political agenda. :(

So true. It's equally ironic that the Chairman is a Tory and he gets a free pass.

I don't agree, people have questioned how he went from a working class Labour supporter, to a multi-millionaire Tory supporter before. Hardly a free pass. Forgotten his roots that man.

People turn a blind eye to johnsons behaviour and lack of morals because he got "brexit done"
Johnson turns a blind eye to his ministers behaviour because he needs blind loyalty.
There's always been bad behaviour from all politicians regardless of rosette colour but they on the whole were dealt with, they resigned or got the sack.
Could you imagine thatcher or major behaving like this or allowing ministers to do as they please?
Look at Patel, she should have been up on treason charges, instead she gets a top role despite blunder after blunder and some despicable bullying thrown in for good measure.
PPE contracts for neighbours, rule changes to save a doner millions in taxes, these things have always gone on but never without consequences.
But when the PM is the lowest of the low how can you expect those he appoints to be any better?
And then they talk about British values !

Why are you continually choosing to ignore what my points have been clearly stated to be? This is possibly the 6th time I have said it, he should not get the abuse and intolerance received on this thread for having a different political stance to a core of others. It shouldn’t happen.

Your anger with NW for liking Boris is so apparent in your reply. His ‘ crassness’, ‘is the task too big for him’? ( I have absolutely no idea why you think this is a tactic by himself to encourage loss of support, that is a very odd comment). Would he of got such personal, abuse from liking the leader of the other parties? Of course he wouldn’t. To be honest, I think your post illustrates perfectly what my point has been throughout this thread,

I haven‘t discussed with anyone whether he should have offered an opinion in the first place, you are shoe horning that into your argument as you just can’t bear to admit that the abuse is wrong. Here is my opinion: football ideally should be kept politically free, as should fans message boards. But intolerance to other peoples views, once they are known, apart from extreme views, should not happen.

You are quite welcome to disagree, I still stand by my statement.

Here we go again, he is entitled to have his political view ( even if it is different to your own). Are you really taking aim at Steve Gibson now? Or maybe, his views change from time to time, but that is up to him and him alone.

HE won't if he doesn't use a middlesbrough football club press conference as a platform to spread his political views. That's the key point you are ignoring. As soon as he abuses that role, then he's fair game.

You mean my anger for using my football club to promote his political views, get it right

Maybe you need to look at his previous behaviours, he's often flounced his way out of a club when it's not going well, and let's be very honest here, the last 5 months have been appalling, as bad as under Woodgate.

I think you have badly misjudged where I sit on this matter, the few likes i've given your posts shows I agree with you. I'm taking aim at the hypocrisy of the clique on this board, not Gibson.

A couple of posts back you implied that he shouldn’t get abuse and you got defensive when you thought I had said you had called him a t@@t. Now you position is ‘that he’s fair game’. Well that soon shifted didn’t it once the surface was scratched and your true feelings came out. You really are illustrating exactly what my points about lack of tolerance are, you are probably doing a better job of it than me, so thank you.

You mean you ‘anger’ for promoting a different political view than your view, would you have such anger issues if he had offered a view the same as your own? Of course you wouldn’t.

Sorry Dan, I apologise. I skimmed read it, whilst replying to several people. I know have reread it and understand what you meant, Thanks.

fair game for facing criticism, not abuse, you've made an assumption on my post to fit some outraged agenda

Nobody has to tolerate political posturing from a football manager in a football press conference. He doesn't have carte blanche to use that platform for his own agenda and it's stupid of him to think he does

You mean you ‘anger’ for promoting a different political view than your view
I'll tell you for the fourth time, maybe it'll sink in, he can have whatever political view he wants, but when he expresses it with his middlesbrough clobber on, in a middlesbrough press conference then he is open to criticism. Why on earth do you feel that he should be able to use his platform to promote Boris? I'm sure you'd have a different opinion if it was Starmer or previously Corbyn

Who are the 'clique' who've given the chairman a free pass?

Couldn't agree more.

Some of the comments on this thread because some have different opinions are absolutely ridiculous and childlike behaviour.

I’m keep this brief as we are just going in circles.
I clearly said that I believed football and politics should not mix.
Please stop pretending that you would have equal anger if the views expressed by NW matched your own. I am surmising now, but I really do t think one person reading your replies would believe that.
If he had similar views to Corbyn or Starmer my stance would be exactly the same, they are his views and he should not get abuse for having them.
