Walking to school in the 60s and 70s

My friend, Suzie M, lived at number 4 I think .... white 1930s house. The object of my unrequited lurv lived further round .... initials A.H. We're still mates, but not heard from Suzie for a long time. You'd have been there much earlier I guess (this was late 70s). The teacherr that arrived later could have been Ian Smith? Obvs, Neil is my old fella. Still going strong (80 now).
I'm now 71 and went to AGS after passing my 11+ from Whinney Banks in 63. No memories of A.H. I'm afraid but she must have lived close to the Old family ( Chis and Alan of cricket and rugby fame). The new physics teacher had a Scottish accent if I can remember but I don't think it was Ian Smith. Your dad was a rugby player if I remember right - he taught all three of us (Peter(me), Andrew and Jane). Give him our best wishes and mention the surname Hamilton as all three of us didn't take too well to the standards required of a quality grammar school. Very happy days though.......

Yeah, he played for Middlesbrough, as did I much later on obviously. I will mention you Hamilton's to him ... though his memory is pretty poor nowadays. He was very pleased to receive that blog post about the photograph though.
