I got the impression some commentators think it’s to suppress labour votes from those considered less likely to have any ID…

But thinking about it, a few people I’ve heard from on social media may be the type that used to vote labour but switched in 2019 to bring down the red wall…

Could it back fire on the tories?

Have you seen the "solution" that they have bodged to give people "Photo ID"?

My wife got one. It is a piece of A4 copier paper with a photo on. Honestly I could fake it in ten minutes and it is valid for 10 years...

It's targeted to suppress the votes of younger people, hence why you can use an OAP bus pass as ID but not a young person's bus pass.

My mum is over 80, has no photo ID and hasn’t seen any adverts about voter ID. She lives in rural North Yorkshire. There will be loads like her who will get stuck when she tries to vote.
