Villa or Utd tickets will be an interesting test of Priority Points system

Looking at the fixtures, Man Utd play Burnley on Tuesday 8th so that would rule out the Sunday or Monday slot. I would guess if we play them it would be Friday night or Saturday lunchtime.

Ourselves and Villa play Wednesday 9th, so if we play them I would guess we would play on the Sunday to give the teams who play on Tuesday night the Saturday slots.

Either way demand is going to be very high, especially if we get Man Utd (which certainly ain't a given with the way they're playing). I've already had several messages from non-ST holders putting feelers out for tickets.

It will be interesting to see where the club set the priority points for this game.

It would be helpful if they posted a breakdown of how many fans have 200+, 190+, 180+, 170+, 160+, 150+, etc. points etc to give you an idea of where you are in the pecking order.

Villa only got 3,000 tickets, they apparently struggled to agree a price with Utd and didn't want to take 6000 - 9000 tickets at £55 for a Monday night game on TV when they would have to purchase the tickets upfront. They settled on 3,000 at £30 (Villa fans weren't happy with the allocation).

Will be interesting to see what Boro would do in that situation.

I think you'll easily get one. I imagine both games are a good bet for TV (UTD being a banker... As usual).

Also throw in random kick off time and day. I would imagine 5-7k depending on either ground. That's definitely going to general sale.

I don't think we've taken 5k+ anywhere this season? The sellouts usually happen over a period of time.

A Friday night on TV or a Saturday dinner time isn't ideal. If it wasn't on TV and a 1500 kick off on Saturday it maybe different.

If it's United there's no chance of a 3pm Saturday. You only have to look at this weekend gone. None of the top 8 in the PL played in that slot.

I don't think we'll sell anywhere near 10k at £55 for the majority of those tickets. The risk is Boro would have to pay the shortfall for any unsold

I think we'll sell out whatever allocation we're given at Old Trafford, if it's Villa then there won't be a clamour for tickets. It's a long time since we had a big away match like Old Trafford. Couple with the good feeling around the place at the moment I don't think it matters what day/time/TV coverage is, we'll sell it. We took 10k there on a Tuesday night in 2015. Good results against teams like Utd can really give a morale boost to the team. We played really well after the last one and the Liverpool cup match that went to 13 pens the season before, as well as the Man City FA cup match.

Start by selling them at the same time as qpr and Bristol tickets. Buy them 2 and get first dibs on cup tickets.

joking aside, I posted the other week about priority points and was rightly pointed that some games started at 170/160.

going forward it’s going to have to be tiered. I’ll be over 200 after Blackburn and would be disappointed if I didn’t get tickets for a game.

like above, I think everybody who wants a ticket for this will get one.

Only going on the post above, but reading tweets from Villa fans, it seems the allocation would have been 0-3000 (£30), 3000-6000 (£45) and 6000-9000 (£55), so Villa just took the 3000 allocation at £30.
Ah, I understand now (y)

If it's Man Utd and 6000 tickets on a Friday night I think there'll be a big clamour for tickets, not only do you have the glamour of the stadium and opponents but many would be wanting to make a night of it.

It's anecdotal but every ST holder I've spoken to since the draw has said they'd be wanting to go to OT, with many who don't have a ST sniffing round for anyone who isn't going so they can use their ST.

If we get Villa I think we'd shift 3,000 at £30 comfortably, but wouldn't blame the club for not asking for more.

£55 'punishment' for a club wanting to take more in the cup 3rd round.... Shocking😕

You'd have thought the more you take the cheaper they would be. I wouldn't pay £55.

I'm guessing £30 is top tier, £45 middle & £55 lower and it'll be what they are charging home fans for the same seats. Robbing buggers.

Old Trafford : Plenty of tickets I trust to go around. 8000 should do if its on a good time. If its Monday night well 5000 should do.
