I'm not saying we should sell him. I'm saying that's the conundrum facing the club.If a broke club with no fans like Blackburn can afford to reject £18m for a player with less than 40 senior professional games under his belt, then we can afford to turn down less for a player who’s finally found his feet in our team and has represented England at various age levels.
Sunderland have the same model as us, they’re not selling Jack Clarke in this window they know it would be idiotic.
And is what Blackburn faced and Sunderland and every other club in the championship faces in these situations.
You have to trust Carrick, Scott etc to know what the tipping point is.
I hope we keep him and I personally wouldn't sell. But if we do, so be it, I don't think the club will take the decision lightly.
