Villa bid for Morgan Rogers

Villa will get their man in the end.
Pure money move.. boro make money, city make money, villa make money.. rogers.. less game time time. I don’t think it’s the right move.. but all the money men will make it happen.

Villa got £14m for Aaron Ramsey.. if they replace him for less than half that with a player that can double their value in a year.. then they are doing great business.

Azaz cost £2.5m Rogers cost us £1.5m.. if we can pay city their 20% and still come out £1.5m on top.. then.. hate to say it but..

£4.5m £950k city £4m = -£450k
£5.5m £1.1m city £4m = £400k
£6m £1.2m city £4m = £800k
£6.5m £1.3m city £4m = £1.3m
£6.75m £1.35m £4m = £1.4m
£6.875m £1.375 £4m = £1.5m
£7m £1.4m city £4m = £1.6m
£8m £1.6m city £4m = £2.4m

If we put a 20% clause in then a future £15m sale gets us another £3m £9.875m €11.5m

Loan back till the end of the season.. maybe a buy back clause if we get promotion?

Just reporting what he said mate. Something along the lines of nobody really stood out but if I had to give a MOTM I'd give it to Rogers for those few bits of skill that we saw from him.
Marcus Forss for me.. then Matt Clarke

Dunno with Higgy.. just comes across a bit ‘meh’ little stuff, daft stuff. Saying ‘them’ instead of ‘us’ etc

What happened to Dana Malt? Maddo and Malt taken out with the lurgee?

Yeah, they were both off sick. I think Maddison does the same though in regards to not always saying "us", does sometimes, doesn't others. Not a big deal really.

I remember using log books too

Clarke had two glorious headers and didn’t even get them on target.

‘They didn’t do enough’ - hmm.. I mean scoring more goals than the opposition should have been enough.

It just stirs up the whoppers on the radio who don’t watch the games.

The thing that gets me with a potential move like this is, like pretty much everyone knows he's barely gonna play. He's not gonna go in and displace Bailey, Watkins, Diaby, McGinn etc, so what's his thinking? I know it's fanciful to expect a player to turn down big moves but it does leave me wondering what to think of him if he wants to leave a club where he's playing regularly, joined permanently only 6 months ago after a string of loans, to go back to not playing and presumably finding himself in a string of loans again.

Is it being dictated with all these headlines that they must, without fail, have this constant weird addition of "wants the move" "excited by the move" "desperate to join" on them? Feels very weird.

Quadruple his wage ?
Wouldn't you ?

Has to be a risk at his age doesn’t it?

For every successful move like this there are plenty who fall by the wayside.

As others on this thread have said it’s one that doesn’t add up or feel quite right.

The other thing is if he’s so highly rated aren’t Boro entitled to a bit of competition for Rogers??

This is a bit like when Tav left. We all came up with great reasons why we should keep him and why he should stay but the reality is money and the premier league is not guaranteed at any point in a players career so when the chance comes along they always take it. Villa are significantly better than Bournemouth as well.
