Villa attendance?

Not that massive, given live on TV and Chelsea game soon after.
Villa are on a roll and should sell whatever they get(somewhere between 3.8 and 4.4 K?).
20 to 25k?
Edit: villa got 3,884.

Post Xmas and on TV will significantly reduce the attendance. I'm expecting a revised pricing. They usually do for the 3rd round. I'd say 20-22k That said Villa could bring a few.

Also clearly the league Cup semi will be a sellout. So that will take 'priority' with many fans.

I also think the semi will almost certainly mean a far weaker side for the villa game. It's understandable. Although with current injury issues not sure if we can go 'weaker' 😂

It's a shame if we have one if the lowest attendances of the season when we are on BBC one the national neutral will think be badly supported ☹️

I think it will be the lowest attendance of the season, they can't count the season tickets sold but who aren't there

I think 20,000, probably boosted by the Villa support.

It being televised and that semi-final straight afterwards is going to sap a lot off.

Most other fans have a perception of our support being much lower than it is in reality.
Probably partly down to having a relatively large stadium and empty seats being visible in the lower tiers.

I think it will be a big crowd. People are looking forward to it. Great game for everyone especially kids to look forward to over Xmas

Huge amount of tickets available on the ticket site, suggestion an awful lot of season card holders haven't bought (as yet).
Even with villa bringing 3.8k I think it could be below 20k.

Looking at the staidum map though not many season ticket holders have reserved their seat. We have as the 3 priority points makes it worthwhile

Why is that. 3rd Round of the Cup is still always special and what a tie this is for us.
I agree with your post in isolation.
But there's no way having a home semi final 3 days later isn't going to affect attendance.

A family of 4 can attend the Villa game for £80, the semi final is likely to be closer to our normal league prices so £100+ for a family of 4. Its lot of money to shell out in early Januray for both matches and if you are making a choice, the semi final against Chelsea trumps a 3rd round tie which is likely to be two significantly weakened sides.

I have decided not to bother now after seeing the League Cup draw. Quick look on the stadium plan suggests less than half of ST tickets have bought their tickets to date. I think 20k is about the best we will get even with a big Villa following.

I think I said between 20k and 22k, initially, but that was before the LC Semi against Chelsea. I would say 18k to 20k now, even with Villa selling out.

Pricing for Chelsea game is going to be interesting. I would price it up as a Championship League game (mid week prices) i.e. £27 to £30 for adults etc - Taking into account the Villa game close to it.
