I doubt that. He withdrew 2 days ago.

Ha. He's clearly not ridden enough. I was awful in the Tour and the Giro, but now looking much better in Vuelta.

Commentators made a big play about how this might impact support for Roglic.
As good as Tom is I don’t think its a big factor. Not sure he helped much in TDF. Granted there are some tough days to come tho

Yes I think JV would have hoped that TD could have done a job like Rohan Dennis did for Ineos in the Giro but just hasn't looked right from the start of the Vuelta.

It has been a terrible Vuelta for me this year (like Baggins, I expected Dumoulin to figure). But it's always fun watching them weaving all over the road on the Angliru. At one point Mas had a lead of about 10 metres and the time gap was about 7 seconds

Out of curiosity I rode the Angliru on my bike simulator this morning
1101 metres climbed And 10.2km long (with no Seb Kuss to drag me up)

I’m sure you could enjoy the first bit but, having watched the other day - that wasn’t going to happen.
I topped out at 23% but the last km averaged 19.5%.
Guess what I learned?
Its chuffin hard
