Vasectomy

It was definitely painful for me, only briefly but I remember it being both painful and a disgusting feeling, hard to describe really. Suffice to say I'd rather have had a general anaesthetic than go through that again.it was like a very focussed kick in the balls without the impact. And then having it done on the other side.

I think you need referring by a GP and they'll assess you at the service to make sure it isn't a whim or you might still want kids later or might regret it etc

We hate kids so no chance of that 😂

I think it took about 6 months from getting the referral to actually progressing it

You'll want painkillers, tight underwear, and for me I wasn't in a rush to do anything physical for 3-4 days minimum. They said no running for a week but after a week I wouldn't have gone for a run 😂 You'll also want some dressings etc as they cauterise it but it's still a wound. Luckily my girlfriend is a nurse so I was well looked after.

You basically need something to support you and not have dressings flailing around.

You won't have it so tight it's constricting you, just providing support.

I just used some of my running compression shorts as they were breathable and held everything where it needed to be

I got given a pack of those enormous panty liners that are about the size of cricket pads to bung in my boxers to help provide support and keep everything in position.(y)
 
And you have to keep checking that your tubes are empty of sailors, so pump away and drop a sample in to the docs, no oral deposits allowed.
 
Got a referral straight away off doc after a few questions, quite a wait for the consultation phone call though which isn’t till August (booked in oct/nov)
 
Willy was a bit sore so I wore a dressing gown at home. Going up the stairs and just reached the top when I slipped falling face down and slid down the stairs. I swear my little end hit every stair on the way down. Wife was so full of sympathy that she nearly wet herself laughing.
 
This threads cracked me up 🤣 I’ve had mine done and didn’t find it painful, just uncomfortable. Had an attractive nurse chatting to me about my job up top end whilst the dr did his thing down the goal end. Don’t be put off by a few stories on here 😬
